Zoo
Is Alcaraz available? A bit gutted to see us 2-0 down. Edit: Vellios! Edited July 14, 2013 by Zoo

Steve_E
Is Alcaraz available? A bit gutted to see us 2-0 down. It was on the preview on the official site that Alcaraz likely won't play today.
GoodisonRoad
Very good goal. Great pass from Gibson, good cross from baines and good header from Vellios.
gethinO
Lovely move. Nice goal. Not really bothered about the result really, looking at the team I'd say maybe 3 maximum 4 will be in the first XI.
Steve_E
Duffy is sorta confirming my fears about him, he looks very sluggish. Of course it's possible that they had an intense training session earlier in the day, but still...
Romey 1878
So glad Vellios got a goal. I really think he could be good for us. Always have. Zoo
GoodisonRoad
should have had a pen, ref has been shocking for both teams.
pete0
Vellios utilising Big Dunc's training, criminal that Moyes neglected him last year.

Fearthainn
Well that's been terrible, but it's the first friendly so obviously no cause for concern. I'd rather we make these silly mistakes in pre-season. Duffy looks poor but he needs more game time. Vellios needs to be given more minutes although with 3 players ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment it's not looking likely. Fearthainn
Haha yeah, it's a shame really as Vellios has always looked decent when he's been given some playing time. If we don't sell any of our forwards we should probably loan him out to a Championship club for the season.

I dont understand why we didn't loan him out last season, I agree though he looks like he is going to be a half decent striker, especially with DF training him up. The thing is though he 20/21 now, we need to start playing him if we want to see his full potential, otherwise he will flop like Baxter. Steve_E
Victor coming on. Any other changes? Fellaini and Hibbert as well. Edited July 14, 2013 by Steve_E
Steve_E
Distin, Oviedo and Kennedy (or is that McAleny) as well? And Grant. God, does anyone have the new XI? Edited July 14, 2013 by Steve_E
gethinO
Those are the ones I can see as well Steve. Distin's on as well at CB. Edited July 14, 2013 by Geth

Steve_E
Good save from Joel. Error from Distin and Duffy again not fast enough to cover. Never mind, he wasn't even sprinting. Edited July 14, 2013 by Steve_E
pete0
Howard's going to be sweating for a place when he gets back. Impressed as you can be based on a friendly, keeper-wise we've not been up to scratch since Martyn retired, optimistic
Steve_E
McAleny and Junior on for Grant and Gibson. No idea why Grant's gone off, he was the best player in the second half.
Cornish Steve
McAleny and Junior on for Grant and Gibson. No idea why Grant's gone off, he was the best player in the second half. Maybe that's why. He's proved what he can do, so now others have the opportunity.

pete0
Feckin'el, some dire defending today, they could have got 5. Some laps tomorrow for those not fit enough to be wearing the shirt.
Dalziel Kane
Wasn't even aware we were playing a friendly today. How much longer is left in this and are we still a goal in reverse.
Steve_E
Dire second half. We're chasing shadows, look exhausted. Austria have their first league game next weekend though so obviously they're expected to be a lot further fitness-wise than we are.
