Dental implants !

Had my third visit today. Should have been last week but we had to cancel as my Warfarin count was too high. It wasn't much better today but we decided to go ahead. Fortunately, there wasn't much bleeding. Got a numb face and some stitches. Still two visits to go. As its one of my two front teeth, I am putting up with it but not sure I would do it for any other teeth, too much hassle (not to mention cost).

thought you were a kid in the 40s?

Good on ya John, rather you than me, have "hyper-sensitive" teeth so even for a de-scale (which I have to have every four months) I have to be completely numbed so 10/12 injections. Necessary though to try to delay any future issues, my dental hygiene routine now is ridiculous! Actually though now have far less fear of the dentist than I used to.

Hey there! See dental implants is the easiest way for quick restoration of natural looking teeth and now it is common with advanced dental implants. It is advised to opt for to avoid long term complications. Or you could also opt for crown and bridge treatment. A dentist or orthodontist will perform the procedure, using local anesthetic. One can overview it on crown and bridge Los Angeles treatment for further information. Don't worry, dental impants are not that bad at all. Just find a reliable and thoroughly professional dentist. I hope this helps you.

I have 3 implants, all done privately in Singapore (where I was working at the time), one front left tooth, one upper right six and another lower right.

The dentist I used is considered one of the best in Singapore and I do remember him telling me that the best time to start the implant process is immediately after the existing tooth root is removed - as it allows the original root hole to be used for alignment. I am extremely happy with the implants so far (9 years and counting) and cant feel or see the difference between them and my real teeth.

I've just had full implants fitted by Evodental they have 2 clinics 1 unbelievably in Liverpool and 1 where I had mine fitted in London.

1) Had X-Ray and consultation to see if I was suitable.

Decided straight away I was going to have it done, they took all the impressions, and I was booked in 3 weeks later, 10 days before I went to Mexico wife wasn't to impressed with my timing.

2) On the day of surgery had to have 19 teeth removed first, probably half were good 3 were broken and others in various states of repair and disrepair, also had a plate with 4 upper front teeth which I'd had since I was 20, knocked out by a Reading supporter using a brick, and 3 I had had removed over the years. Anyway I was in the chair for 5 hours with one rest break, teeth removed and 11 implants fitted, then 2 hours later they fitted a temporary set so your not walking around for what would normally be 3 weeks before your first permanent set has been made and ready to be fitted, in my case it was 9 days because I was going to Mexico, I have to go back in July when they are going to make me a second set which they keep as backup.

When I had to discuss the costs it was with one of the owners a scouse lad called Steve who was a red, he obviously worked in the Liverpool clinic with his partner and when they decided to branch out he took the London clinic, he's not a dentist himself he's a business man, I was given an initial price of 24k, but after a bit of negotiating paid 21k.

Had them nearly 6 weeks now can eat anything, they look great best decision I made wish I'd done it years ago, but like Steve said 10 years ago that would have cost in excess of 100k.

As I have posted before in the Dental implant thread, I had one of my front teeth done. Took three months as they pack the root with powdered cow bone which has to have time to set. Delighted with the result. Don't know what procedure they used for Palfy's to be done so quickly? My dentist is a top man who specialises in implants. Cost for the one tooth was 2.5k.

Don't know how long ago that was John, but technology moves on and techniques change all the time, go online and search Evodental, its definitely an eye opener.

Let me know what you think John and how different it was to your experience.

Only last year Palfy. 5 visits, two lots of stitches over 3 months. Really pleased with the result though I wouldn't do it again for other than a front tooth. I will have a look at Evodental.

Palfy, have had a look at Evodental and the procedure appears to be an alternative to conventional dentures. I think the procedure for a single tooth is quite different.

Am pleased that your procedure went well. I am lucky that, at 81, I have only two missing teeth. All the rest are all my own bar the one implant. On my last visit to the dental hygienist she said 'remarkable teeth for your age'. Mind you, I have very strong bones too, must have good levels of calcium. Never broke a bone even though I played football 'till I was 40. Had a few bad knocks too.
