Keisuke Honda's agent has admitted the player would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

Merseyside duo Liverpool and Everton have both been credited with an interest in the Japanese international.

The talented midfielder has been in scintillating form for Eredivisie newcomers VVV Venlo, notching seven goals in only nine appearances this term.

A host of clubs including Liverpool, Everton, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven are believed to be keeping tabs on Honda with Venlo facing a fight to keep hold of their prize asset.

The 23-year-old's agent, Kees Ploegsma, has admitted a number of clubs are chasing the attacking midfielder and that the player would be keen on a switch to England.

"There are a lot of clubs following him, but there is nothing concrete at the moment," Ploegsma told skysports.com.

"I don't know anything about Liverpool and Everton and we will wait and see what happens in January.

"Of course Keisuke would be interested in playing in England. England is a very good country for playing football.

"If a club makes an offer and Keisuke likes that club something could happen, but we will wait and see."

Definitely would take him, we definitely wont get him.

After his WC exploits he's now seen as one of the most exciting CAM/SS in Europe.

His agent has already stated (a million times) that his client is waiting for a massive club to come in and get him, so that sounds like he's put us out of that bracket.

Especialy if Martin Jol has had a cheeky word...

I'd have him, he's always looked really good for Japan and is a dead-ball expert according to the FIFA database. He has a bit of experiance too as I'm sure he's been around for a bit.

Just reading down the side of that Everton site and it seems that our ex-centre back David Weir is interested in joining Falkirk as their new manager - interesting :)
