Bill
I think there's only two in the running Mark, stay with Jags or give it to Seamus, I would ignore all the other nominations. markjazzbassist and Matt

We've had this discussion every year and I don't think Jags will be stripped of his captaincy. Think he should be club captain and Seamus vice captain. Sibdane
No matter what happens to Jags, I think it's pretty clear that we all agree Seamus should have some leadership responsibilities. Bailey

Changing captain can have an affect on the dressing room and whilst I can see any of them not respecting Coleman, there will be players that feel Jags has been disrespected. Unless Jags, by his choice, wishes to hand it over to Coleman, I think the Club/Jags Vice/Coleman is the natural choice. I think Pickford is likely to be a captain in the not too distant future, hopefully at Everton. Bailey
Haiku
You are giving too much priority to the armband. It doesn't matter who the official captain is, it's about leadership. As long as Seamus is on the pitch, wearing the armband or not, he'll give his heart for the win. That's what really matters. So much this. The captaincy is another distraction and English media obsession that underscores the overall cohesiveness of a dressing room where the players have a high level of respect for each other and the coaches, and where individuals are held accountable to an accepted standard. Gwlad
But surely actually wearing the armband gives them the extra impetus to urge the team on?
Shukes
The armband is to give the refwreee a player to call over. Was it Leeds under Bremner in the 70s that said you need 11 captains on a pitch. Quinn31, Haiku and Matt
