Tony Mowbray wants to end his goalkeeper crisis at West Brom with a swoop for Everton star Richard Wright.

Baggies boss Mowbray is keen to take Wright on loan for the remainder of the season after having problems with Pascal Zuberbuhler and fitness doubts over veteran keeper Russell Hoult.

Wright, 29, has played with Mowbray at Ipswich and his Everton contract is up at the end of this season.

I'd gladly have Murphy and Halford tbh

Moyes was asked after our match about us looking for players to bring in and he said nothing definite yet. I hope it means something may be in the pipeline and he isnt just bullshitting to appease the fans.

Everton to sign joey barton for £3. 75m + S. Davies in the summer also heard S. Hunt of Reading will be siging aswell with pistone going the other way. also tim howard will sign permenantly, with United clearing money still owed for Rooney sale.

As Wenger said we probably won't bring any big names in until the summer. However he has not completely switched off his scouting radar. Wenger wants to have the world's best players for the future whilst they're inexpensive. Possible acquisitions are Tomas Holy, Niklas Penttila, Gilles Sunu, Jack Rodwell, Igor Akinfeev, Scott Carson, Aaron Niguez Escaplez, Gio Dos Santos, Bojan Krkic, Nicolas Millan, Jean Carlos Chera, Nikon Jevtic, James McCarthy, Victor Moses, Ze Mario and Guillerminho. Believe me these guys are going to be ten times better than todays crop.

summers too late....and rodwell...fook off

also plymouth are thought to be going for izale mcleod for 750k rising to 1 mil. ... seen him before looks a great player, not too much money i wouldn't mind if we went for him, not a massive gamble

Its not just in the guardian its also in the sun the mirror and the times that I have seen so far

Might be a bit of truth in it.

It DM is getting rid of Weir and Davies then he has to look at bringing in at least 2 players to cover for those

A number of clubs are rumoured to be scouting Leicester's promising midfielder Levi Porter, with Everton leading the way for his signature, in a deal £1. 25 million, and Richard Stearman, who is still unsettled by the transfer speculation - and two bids - from the summer.

Weir will go back to Scotland to help Walter Smith revive Rangers. also Naysmith and Mcfadden could be on their way to back to Scotland in a 6m deal taking them to Ibrox in the summer. Everton need a strong athletic midfielder and missing out on sissoko 2 seasons ago was a big blow bt rumours are we could be chasing a few likely targets in Robbie savage, nigel Reo-Coker, alexi smertin, benoit pedretti and christiano zanetti although 3 of the 5 would be short term deals each would certainly sure up Evertons midfield. also Scott brown from Hibs could come in 4 as little as 2m and John o'shea, nicky butt, David dunne and bernard mendy are again names being linked with Everton. but surely we need a striker. we can't afford mcarthy because of the goals he's scored in the prem, so why not go for Robbie Keane or Mido (maybe wages 2+) at least 1 is for sale. stallone wants in on club earl an sly plan total control.

Doesn't look like it's going to happen anyway....... from the official site.......

David Moyes has moved to clarify media reports regarding an Everton move for Joey Barton.

Speculation in Tuesday's papers linked the Manchester City midfielder with a switch to Goodison Park.

And Goodison chief Moyes admitted that he had spoken to City counterpart Stuart Pearce about the 24-year old from Huyton.

Moyes told evertonfc.com: "I can confirm theat we have made an enquiry for Joey Barton.

"However, Manchester City made it clear he was not for sale and we respect the wishes of the club and Stuart Pearce."

Everton are set to offer £5.5 million for Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton.

Toffees boss David Moyes is on the point of selling Simon Davies to Fulham for £2.5m, while he is yet to spend the similar amount that Kevin Kilbane fetched in the summer.

That will virtually cover the cost of the Barton offer, even though City are likely to try to hold out for a bigger fee.

Centre-back David Weir, 36, is set to join Rangers on a free - further easing the wage bill and increasing the chances of Everton nabbing England hopeful Barton.

Scouse midfielder Barton, 24, was on the books at Goodison as a youngster.

He signed a four-year deal in July but has a £5.5m release clause.

Everton have joined Charlton in the race for Sheffield Wednesday defender Madjid Bougherra.

The Daily Mail says Goodison manager David Moyes watched Wednesdays 1-0 defeat on Saturday at Derby, and Bougherra was the focus of his attention.

Moyes is expected to put the 24-year-old Algerian under the microscope in tomorrows FA Cup third round replay at Manchester City before deciding whether to rival interest from Charlton and Reading.

The Goodison boss is chasing a central defender with David Weir set to leave and Bougherra is valued at £3m.

Not going to happen and to be honest after reading this don't think it ever was going to happen

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...+BARTON+ENQUIRY

"David Moyes has confirmed he enquired about bringing Joey Barton to Everton, but was knocked back by Manchester City.

Reports have claimed that Moyes is looking to activate a £5.5million clause in the midfielder's contract.

Barton has been linked with several Premiership clubs during the January transfer window, but City boss Stuart Pearce insists the England hopeful is not for sale.

Pearce also revealed that he has not received any offers for Barton, or any of his star players.

Everton did test the water with an enquiry, but manager Moyes admits he stopped short of making a bid due to City's stance on Barton's future.

"I can confirm that we have made an enquiry for Joey Barton," Moyes told the club's official website.

"However, Manchester City made it clear he was not for sale and we respect the wishes of the club and Stuart Pearce."

Barton, a boyhood Everton fan, has impressed for City this season, chipping in with five goals from central midfield and he is tipped to be included in England's squad for the February friendly with Spain"

Why would you not offer for him if have release clause.

If you didn't offer for players that you were told were not for sale then you would never buy anyone.

Sorry to me smells of the old "We tried to sign players but they were not avalible for sale'
