Gwlad all over
The super Blues come first but after them comes Formula 1. Anyone know of a Toffee Talk equivalent for F1. Most of the ones I've found are very boring, Ta alot
MikeO
Share your interest Gwlad but not to the extent that I feel the need to debate at huge length....we had a short thread on here last season (LINK) but it didn't come to much. Looking forward to it again, specially with Luke Hamilton in the McLaren giving us two Brits (hopefully) at the sharp end of the field. Stupid thing is I couldn't remember his name so I looked it up on the F1 site to check and still got it wrong.....Alzheimers or early onset dementia setting in perhaps . Romey 1878
I used to like Raikkonen but I can't stand the Ferarri team so I'll keep on supporting Alonso at McClaren
MikeO
Understand admiring Raikkonen as a driver but he has less personality than the average cardboard box so it would be a PR disaster for F1 if he won the title. Bernie Ecclestone must have nightmares about it. Given a choice of the three genuine contenders (Raikkonen, Alonso and Massa) I'm with Mark on Alonso but have to stick with the Brits (Coulthard excepted). Really want to see Jenson and Lewis Hamilton ( ) get amongst them. Edited February 25, 2007 by MikeO
Romey 1878
I can't see Alonso retaining his title again tbh because McClaren are so unreliable, that's probably part of the reason why Raikkonen left them. If they sort that out they're probably faster than the Ferarri's
aaron
whos button with this year, hope he puts in a title fight this year. but i too like alonso. wonder what the odds on shcumaker doing a come back are....

thebluenose
the new mclaren i think will do well. i think they may have done away with reliability issues. and im hoping hamilton to do well. although i can see raikonnen winning. the good thing with this season is that without schumacher the title race is open now to all drivers. therefore its probably more interesting as we wont see micheal schumacher on the podium anymore
Romey 1878
Raikkonen will be the champion I reckon, that car is far superior to anything out there right now.

thebluenose
Button will never be a contender unless he moves into a better car. he is a good driver and has got lots of experience. put him in a ferrari, mclaren, renualt and hel be up there
MikeO
put him in a ferrari, mclaren, renualt and hel be up there Agreed...ten podium finishes and third in the championship (in 2004) behind totally dominant Ferraris suggests he has the ability if he had the car. No question in my opinion.
Mac
Put them all in the same car, same spec, same equipment. Then you will have the best driver, either that or let them drive around Liverpool City centre at 16.30 on a Friday afternoon, and see who is the best driver. Too much money, not enough responsiblity. it is not hard to drive around a track where there is nothing to block you. These men are held up as the best drivers in the world, give me a fucking break, (or brake). These people claim they take part in the most dangerous "sport" on earth, no-one forces them to do it. xsaint
I heard the 4 BMW powered machines have one of the best inline speed but in all they seem not to qualify for a podium finish. Is it real that BMW lack F1 power? ( They cannot be worst than Toyota and Honda machines right?) or is it the bad team and bad startegy the reason for their failures so far? Advices appreciated.....thanks
MikeO
BMW have their engines in both Sauber and Williams and the Sauber looks a very strong contender at the mo, behind only Ferrari and McLaren. Hard to predict after just one race and they don't have the most exciting drivers in Heidfeld and Kubica (though Kubica is promising) but I think they'll get the odd podium this year. StevO
some shaik owns it, but murdock spent quite a bit of cash to get in on sky. they thought it would take away a lot of fans from F1, because A1 is all the same cars, and rubbish like that

iggy
GREAT result for McLaren, I don't think you need to worry about Hamilton, he is a talented driver with a competetive car, and won't get itchy feet like Button (Who is not as good as he thinks) did.
