Ex-Pat-Sefton
So Villa eh! Many wont beable to see a victory at Villa Park especially if we play like we did v Metalist. So, which Everton team will turn up? I'm preparing myself for more long ball stuff. I think Moyes is lucky this one is away because he'd cop some shit from the crowd if it was at Goodison. It would be nice if after the game this forum is singing the praises of a forward or midfielder rather than the defence (as good as they are). Droobie
I think it's gonna be a scrappy 2-1 win to us... Boys have something to prove after mid-week
Zed
Hopefully, the bad result in midweek will serve as a kick up the arse Not sure about a score, I'll accept a draw away any day
Sandman
maybe a scrappy, boring 1-0 win to us... though probably 1-1 the way we've been playing <_<
Romey 1878
I reckon we'll play 451, so we'll still be seeing Carsley and Pip in the centre of midfield. Moyes will see the 451 as being able to stop the pace of Aston Villa, although, I have no idea how that will work when we don't have any pace of our own to keep up with them. 2-0 to them - Barry, Moore. Dodge
not an easy game... they put chelsea to sleep few weeks back with quick short passes and yes we will see which everton team turns up
MikeO
Who's going to be penalty taker if Arteta's still not fit? Yakubu I guess. I'd settle for a draw.
StevO
i think aj would step up again. im just hoping for him he can get a goal to help put the other nite behind him. its gunna be a tough one
Blue 250
No easy games....as Thursday proved!Aj to take the penalties......and as no one has scored two past us this season, then I think a couple of Hibbert thunderbolts should make us all happy!.......no one more than Hibbert who will probably be just happy to be in the squad. Don't be surprised to see a totaly different Everton to Thursday! Go get some pride back lads!....1-2 Everton.

We did have pride but that was stolen away on Thursday. Its up to the team to restore our pride not us to magically pluck it from thin air. c1982
I'm gona be sat on my hands in the holte end today on my mates villa season ticket with a west brom fan (he's supporting EFC today) - so if you see an Evertonian being carried out of the holte after yak's 30 yard screamer in the last minute - that's me!!! MikeO
33 Wessels 02 Hibbert 04 Yobo 05 Lescott 03 Baines 20 Pienaar 16 Jagielka 18 Neville 21 Osman 28 Anichebe 08 Johnson Substitutes 30 Ruddy, 11 McFadden, 19 Nuno Valente, 22 Yakubu, 26 Carsley Arteta still not back . Yak & Carsley dropped to the bench...Pienaar & Ossie both start, don't expect to see that too often. Clean sheet is the main objective for me. Romey 1878
Thank fuck Carsley has been left out. Anichebe will hopefully show me that I'm wrong about him today and actually put himself about. Come on lads.

Romey 1878
Terrible defending. Doubt we'll come back to win now, draw is the best we can hope for.
FairWooney
this is getting frustrating, our defence can play brilliantly and we have some real talent there and yet they can't keep a clean sheet, what's wrong with them?? watching the man u game they played so well i wondered how they'd conceeded against every other team and I still don't know, you could say the man u game was a lapse of concentration that cost them but i wouldn't blame anyone for it. with such a defensive midfield as well we shouldn't be giving away the chances. Sandman
the bit ive listened to sounds like hibbo and aj are playin ok but barry is completely controlling the midfield.
Romey 1878
We're hoofing the ball as usual and it's getting us nowhere as usual. They're playing football, I have no idea what we're playing.

DavB
1-0 Villa, Carew. I expect the game to finish 2 or 3-0 as yet again barndoor Johnson has been started.

Bit unfair, Johnson hasn't even had a chance yet due to our lack of anything in midfield. We don't play to feet, and if Moyes can't see that's a problem then he's blind.
