Such a shame about Osman's goal. He's having an amazing game. Most we've seen from him in over a month.

Man, the ball just seems to stick to his feet. And, I like that he gives zero fucks about committing to a challenge. This kid might have something special.

The papers are likely to link us with every Belgian talent. We don't exactly buy loads of players and have two Belgians. Then, we have the "Everton need to keep hold of Fellaini" storyline. It makes sense to the papers that we would want to surround him with more Belgian nationals to keep him happy here. Needless to say, I take any Belgian player links with a whole shaker of salt. This guy looks good though.

He's a 19-year-old American who was playing for Empoli. They offered him a new contract, but he decided to turn it down and look for other options. He's a forward/striker, but was playing on the right and left wings and even at right back at Empoli.

Pienaar and Ossie being their usual selves. Just a pity they spazz out when it comes to finishing. Pienaar also should have laid it off to Barkley there, but I guess the shot did open up for him eventually. I feel Ross would've buried it though.

Sad that Oviedo got dropped. Although Naismith has been putting the ball in the back of the net.

I've got a good feeling about today. We haven't had the best of luck against Arsenal in recent years, but they aren't the same Arsenal and we can really shake up their already shaky back four this year.

I don't see the big deal with Vellios, and I never have. He scored a couple quick goals last season, yeah. But, I don't see anything in his movement or ball skills, for instance, that makes me feel like he can be trusted to be the only striker on the pitch.

I'm not saying there weren't any moves to make, at all. Of course he could throw on anyone for anyone. But, he had a couple of young wingers, an attacking midfielder, a striker, a right back, and a center back. And, all (other than the injured right back) lacked experience. He could have done some late reshuffling in the match and taken out Hitz, moved Heits to mid, brought in Hibbo to rb. But, that would've meant shaking things up, maybe too much at the time. I'm not saying he was right or wrong. I just can understand there not being a clear logical move to make.

I don't know who you would really want Moyes to sub yesterday.... Hibbert for Heitinga would have been the safest sub to make. He had a bench full of young players and wanted to protect the lead late in the match. Duffy on for ??? was possible, but it would have either meant taking off Jags or Distin or adding a 5th member to the back, which we've seen recently worked soooo well for us at the end of a game. He really didn't have much of a move to make. I was screaming for a sub for a while, too. But, I understand him being fearful to bring on 18-year-old Barkley to be our strong defensive-midfielder, replacing Hitzlsperger, when Barkley is still known to make silly hollywood mistakes. Don't be too hard on Moyes for yesterday. That bench was built to try and win a 0-0 draw, not to conserve a 1-0 lead for 80+ minutes. Without a 2nd earlier goal (which Moyes, unfortunately, can't go out and score for his team), this was always going to be difficult.

I wish 'staches were popular. I rock a pretty good dirt 'stache, myself, year-round. Baines looks super crusty with it, and should definitely keep that look. It's like I'm watching tv in the 70s.

OchOviedo for me. His chest filled the void left by Fellaini's and created Naisy's goal. He kept working the entire game on both sides of the ball. Can't really knock him for anything today. Great full league debut for him.

Fucking shit. Heitinga is completely useless when it comes to aerial balls.

Also, Osman being Osman today. Makes a great play on the ball, slips 2 or 3 defenders, then scuffs his shot. Man, if only he could really finish, could you imagine?
