Martinez says that bringing Deulofeu in permanently is probably not happening but that extending the loan could be possible.

It's very clear why the hype exists but it's also very clear why Barcelona aren't ready to insert him into games yet. He definitely needs to learn when is and isn't the right time to run at the defenders vs when to release the ball a bit earlier. And he needs to learn how to protect the ball a bit better. Obviously these are things that can only be learned with experience, so I wouldn't be concerned from a long-term standpoint. Hopefully the coaching staff here can work with him on these things in the next few months and he'll be well-rounded and ready to get some first-team minutes on a consistent basis by December or January.

Anyone who doesn't believe Landon Donovan isn't capable of playing at this level is flat out wrong. He's been playing arguably the best football of his career these last few months. And I've been on record before showing disdain for Donovan.

Who knows what happens between now and then whether through transfers or injuries.

His contract with MLS ends in December. Thus, we could sign him tonight and not pay a single cent to MLS. With that in mind I don't see why a transfer fee matters in the least.

That's a pretty big leap to make, don't you think? Every single midfielder in the world is going to (fail to) make a play like that a couple times per season. If he goes 5 games in a row refusing to battle for balls then you'll have something, but taking one individual incident and trying to use it to project Fellaini's attitude towards the possibility of a transfer is pretty drastic.
