Don't think it should be a new signing. Neville was vice captain behind Weir for his first season and a half at the club....although he was captain on the pitch on a few occasions in 05/06 and regularly in 06/07. I'd give it to TC personally....although I agree with most of what 250 said (other than him being the best man for the job . Plainly I am, but I'm destined to be overlooked again because of Davey's lack of adventure ).

That sounds incredibly unlikely to me; any evidence to back it up? Never heard of any company or organisation ever doing such a thing. Individual contracts may be agreed taking into account the rates of the time but (for example) in 1974 the top rate went up to 83%. Any club/company contractually obliged to guarantee a net income under those circumstances would very quickly go out of business. Any club who work like that would be barking mad in the current financial situation.

Well actually 04/05 was worse...we had three points but had lost three Euro games. We followed that up by losing the next five league games and going out of the Carling Cup at home to 'Boro.
