Another thing with Martinez besides the bad defending. Has he abandoned the “train however you want” philosophy? I remember Barkley and even baines saying since there was no accountability they just stopped hitting the weights and stuff after a while. That was another big issue.

Good for him, I derided him in his early time with us and he proved most of us me included wrong. That Chelsea match was glorious. I followed him in the scores in Scotland and Norwich after he left us, he was a special guy. Wonderful work with the homeless and I wish him nothing but the best!

Thing with Roberto is how does he work with brands? He did it all last time, why would he want brands around? Unless brands moved to a different position or just on the board or something I can’t see it happening.

On vacation in the woods camping, finally find a spot with some internet and pop on to see if we have a new manager yet. Seeing Rafa linked heavily and remembers Everton is still a shit show, back to the woods….

I don't remember any attitude stuff
This week Vlasic has sat down for a new interview with Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti.
During the interview, Vlasic has mocked Everton for thinking they are as good as Tottenham:
Everton has spent $100 million last year on reinforcements. Only three players – Richarlison, (Yerry) Mina and (Lucas) Digne – cost about 90 million.
Everton are looking for great names and players from big clubs, like Barcelona.
Despite these immense investments, the team is currently in the 11th place. That means there will be new, big purchases (in the future).
I know (Everton) have decided internally that they will try to be the new Tottenham and join the biggest league clubs.
What went wrong for Vlasic at Everton
Vlasic also opened up about why his move to Everton didn’t work out.
For the Croatian, his problems are all Sam Allardyce’s fault:
Everything changed after (Ronald) Koeman left. The football played under Big Sam was awful, if it could even be called football.
In such football I do not have a place. The football team was terrified by everything – the fans mostly.
I read another piece where he asked Silva if he was a guaranteed starter, when he said no, he said I’d rather leave. Guy didn’t wanna fight for his place.

Because that is effectively his job!!!!
It's not Matt, otherwise that would be his job title. Denise was the COO, then she was promoted to CEO. More likely it falls on her plate since she's a C level executive, again Brands is not, he is Director of Football. Furthermore, David Harrison is Director of Football Operations, so Brands doesn't even need to worry about any of that stuff.

Only issue he had was some attitude issues. If he has grown up and matured maybe those have been resolved. I was a big supporter of his until the attitude stuff. Here’s to hoping…

Matt we don’t forget because we still have a ton of deadwood that his remit was to clear out. He’s done ok. I’ve said my piece on him before his transfer record is no better than Steve Walsh a person most consider a fraud. As to the other stuff? Sure it’s all fine and dandy but as Palfy has said it’s a results business and mid table average for your tenure isn’t success thats mediocrity. Who cares about the back room and how good he is in a meeting and how wonderful he is with Denise. can you win a trophy now for being the best run club and nicest staff?

Dunlopp, Dunlopp, Dunlopp you’ve been around long enough by now to know zero is the amount of fucks I give about likes… although, being above MJB is a bit of a relief. Not sure I could deal with that level of embarrassment if I wasn’t.
Just like fat Sam I console myself with my House in Spain and massive amount of money I’ve earned over the years.....or not

Good shout on The Code, I am surprised I never noticed it before reading your post. I'll start season 2 next couple days. A Very Secret Service was pretty silly, but also a good shout.
If you enjoyed The Code and it's cast and haven't seen -
Secret City (political thriller)
Mystery Road (crime/police drama) TV series as well as 2 movies, I really enjoyed the TV series.
My Life is Murder (crime drama-comedy) A bit lighter, but enjoyable. Supposed to be a second season at some point.
All 3 are Australian, and all have The Code cast scattered through them. All pretty entertaining, and learned a fair amount about Australia I didn't know.
yes i enjoyed secret city as well.
recently watched on netflix
Alone - the latest season, its people surviving in the arctic in Canada alone, foraging for food, hunting, building a shelter, pretty nuts, i love this stuff.
Behind Her Eyes - psychological thriller/mystery. wonderful just edge of the seat type show. it's english (BBC?) and the main character is Bono's daughter.
Yusuke - Anime on Netflix, was decent, about a black samurai.
on apple tv
Mosquito Coast - holy shit this was awesome. thriller/mystery/on the run type show based on the book. just finished the season finale and i can't wait till next season.
HBO
The Nevers - pretty decent sci fi/fantasy from Joss Wheden, really enjoyed the show.

I think it's a good move. He's quick, strong, a good defender, and most importantly, he was captain of the side at just 25. We need to bring in more leaders like that.
so was Davy.

@Palfy i didn't know you were on holiday in france?

We beat a Mexico side but it took their best player being injured (Raul jimenez) and added extra time to do so. I’m still not convinced by these kids.

Guy is very talented, but it’s a cover song. Would prefer to hear original works but most of YouTube is just people covering other artists work. I get it.
