  3. laugh away, it's very different from the american system. i'd done a fair amount of reading on the subject and still was quite fuzzy. i thought the new contracts signed were just to lock the new signing down to a long term contract. ala we sign player with one year left, we don't want it to expire and them leave after 1 year (like american system), so they sign a long term deal. that's how it works in america i figured that was the same rationale.
  4. for those not in america, Sporting Kansas City is a very well run club. The city is very small yet they are always in the playoffs and do well, and their academy is great. They are the american definition of punching above their weight. They have an insane following as well, a lot of national team matches are played their just because they've transformed that whole area into massive football fans. With the salary cap in the US they can't really spend big, so there's no precedent for that if they did take over Everton. Not getting too excited but this is a solid buyer with integrity.
  5. yep that's why i was always confused with the "one year left" transfer dealings. now it all makes sense.
  6. ah well i don't know where we would play him anyways. ross is really coming alive as the 10 ACM and i wouldn't want him removed. Barry and Mccarthy are looking good as well, so better that we find another striker now i think and focus on that.
  7. thanks mike and romey, good to understand the transfer dealings better. i'm more optimistic about this, can we get some more guys to have testimonials in the next year or so that would feature rooney? lol
  8. so let me get this straight. in american sports if i sign 5 year deal with Team A and get traded to team B, they are on the hook for said deal length and pay. the contracts aren't specific to the team. you're saying mike that one a transfer occurs the current contract is negated (i'm guessing it's just between player and club) and a new deal has to be agreed upon by the new club? well shit in that case no doubt he could come, i thought it was american style where whoever got him had to pay those ridiculous wages unless he agreed to terminate.
  9. thanks mike always good to get other perspectives and that makes a lot more sense.
  10. so you're saying he would go to them and tell them he wants to leave to Everton, would like to terminate his contact. they will want to because he's declined and very expensive. a transfer wouldn't work because we would be stuck with the same contract correct? the above scenario is the only one that would work? i'm trying to figure this out from a logistic perspective.
  11. http://www.espnfc.us/fifa-world-cup/story/2664407/michel-platini-has-full-support-of-uefa-executive-committee morons.
  12. how will he negate his 250k a week salary? how will united let him go? love him back but i just don't see it happening.
  13. good news, we can use his link up play and attacking prowess in the final third.
  14. in one graph we are on the most expensive coppa tea lol. 2.20 is hardly gauging when most american stadiums charge 10 dollars for less than a pint of beer, and 5 dollars for a soda.
  15. don't worry Haf said he's better than Lukaku so they should be fine
  16. yeah for club soccer it is, for international its not. it would be more beneficial for conmebol to merge and less for concacaf. agreed, there is so much money on the table those greedy conmebol and concacaf aren't going to leave it there. Yes a lot do play youngsters but tha'ts the problem, they don't take it seriously. it's atrocious.
  17. Fantastic idea. The us teams would get smoked though. They still can't beat Mexican teams in concacaf champions league, no us team has ever won. This would make it even harder.
  18. lol he does look ragged all the time. i really hope they deny the appeals from blatter and platini. i hope the election goes through as planned.
  19. man city have turned a profit now. debt free and profitable, guess the sheik wasn't so bad after all.

  21. if he's fit why didn't he play for england in either match?
  22. Howard Coleman Jags Mori Galloway McCarthy Barry Gerry Barkley Mirallas Lukaku Subs - Lennon for Gerry, Kone for Lukaku, Gibson for Barry
  23. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2015/10/14/he-reminds-me-of-duncan-edwards this should help to counteract that roy hodgson effect. John feel free to enlighten us as you may have seen him play.
  24. not sure what the big deal is. he's our player for now and is doing well, he's on a contract for 4 more years. He will sell for more than he was bought for. When we bought him we knew full well he would leave sooner than later and Everton wasn't to be his home forever.
