  1. Ched Evans affair continues to annoy me. Hartlepool are apparently possibly offering him a chance to play again, but the local MP has other ideas..

Hartlepool's Labour MP Iain Wright said Evans was a "pariah" and signing him would send the wrong message to young fans.

"I really hope we don't," said Wright. "I love my club, I love Hartlepool United. There's a reason why no other team in the Football League wants to sign him - he is a pariah.

"I was at the match today. There were lots of young lads there supporting Hartlepool United. I just think it sends out such a wrong message to young men in terms of it being OK for a rapist to play football. It's entirely wrong."

I can't get beyond the fact that he's served his time and should be allowed to resume his profession; what's the point in giving a sentence if you're going to continue to persecute beyond that? Just as well give everyone life.

it's the same over here mike. but the politicians don't get involved it's just the media. and the teams will never sign those players because their marketing and PR departments don't want to deal with all the bad press involved. sad really.

  2. I'm like you in that I try to give the manager the benefit of the doubt, but there are no excuses for today. The players should be ashamed, and I still can't wrap my head around the whole subs(or lack thereof) thing.

How can we expect to keep players like Mirallas or Barkley when we can't do anything?

sadly we can't. mirallas i've given up on (transfer wise), stones too (he'll leave one day), but ross barkley is really something. and if we sell him it's gonna break my heart.

  3. i think he needs to go back and look and see what was successful last season. last season was a combo of moyes and martinez tactics, sometimes we went direct, sometimes we played out the back, it wasn't cut and dry always play out the back. in addition he changed our formation up, we did 433 sometimes (arsenal) and it really did well. we even played 3 at the back. youngsters were given a chance, everyone was loaned out. subs made a difference and weren't always conventional. injuries were standard level.

this season its' 4231, best players play no matter what position, no youngsters get a chance and aren't even loaned (except kennedy and pennington). always pass from the back. their whole side could be in our third and romelu could be wide open but pass out the back. subs are far and few between, most games we don't even use all 3 (even though we have the deepest squad ever) and are ill timed. injuries have become an epidemic. its as if there is sometime wrong with the training regimen.

i hope he goes back to last seasons tapes and corrects these issues. i've always backed roberto and still will, i think he's a great manager, but sometimes wrong and he's not changing it and i'm getting worried. he wasn't like this last year.

  4. Rom actually started ok. Then his natural cowardly can't be arsed nature gave them an own goal. He didn't not only be the only person not to jump, he fuckin ducked and it hit him. He was bothered about other players hitting him.

I'm sick of fookin moaning about him, Martinez can fuck off as well. Blowing £28m doesn't mean play him at all costs.

and we are sick of hearing it, please stop.

  5. Well, we don't need to turn this into a chance for Pienaar-bashing. But, I'm in full agreement. We need more pace and players to run with the ball in midfield right now. Playing slow and considered is doing fuck all at the moment.

yeah didn't mean it as a pienaar bash, just that he slows the ball down THAT much, like stevie for reference.

  6.

They don't really have a big genuine Jewish fanbase, the "yid" thing has just been adopted by the fans in general. Certainly north London has a large Jewish population centered mostly around Golders Green; but that's actually closer to Arsenal than Spurs. I've told the story on here recently, but when my father-in-law (who a Russian descended Jew) wanted to go to football in the thirties he first went to Spurs but said he, and others, were made very unwelcome and there was a large blackshirt (fascist) presence. So he went to Highbury and has been an Arsenal fan ever since.

Don't think the fans would complain any more than a section of ours would.

    Interesting, thank you.

  7. I live in new orleans, great city if you like spicy fried food (creole cuisine) and music. tons and tons of great music here at tiny bars for cheap. lot of culture and art, and extremely affordable. high crime and not the cleanest place in the world though.

Hamburg was nice, red light district was a hoot. nice city i had fun there.

  8. no thanks, i'd rather be a club with integrity than some plastic middle eastern sheik owned shill. honestly i don't know if i could follow the club anymore. i'm sure ole pad will have a field day with this, but i just can't support that. not honest and not right. BK is a fan and i love that. they want to buy spurs anyways.

side note: how would spurs with a large jewish fan base feel about being owned by arabs? i just don't think it would work.

  9. i would love gerry back.

    howard/new goalie

    coleman stones jags baines

    mccarthy barkley

    duelofeu naismith mirallas

    lukaku

that just looks really good. i have a feeling playing eto'o with him would be really nice too, samuel would give him some great passes.

  10.

I will be honest here, you could partner Ronaldo with Coleman at the moment and Coleman would look a mess. He is absolutely all over the show. Taking the ball over the touchline for throw ins, over running it the lot.

not going to argue with that one bit. just that pienaar and ossie and even mirallas all allow baines to work with them and run the flank and they cut inside. mcgeady acts like the flank is his birthright. i'd like to see him work better with seamus and not just hog the lane.

  11. we have 2 fantastic attacking fullbacks, lets stick with that. mirallas is a proper winger but he can cut inside and make things happen. kev also has learned to work better with baines and not be running over each other, so i'm fine with that. mcgeady no thank you, he removes seamus completely. we need a pienaar-esque player on that side, someone who will let coleman bomb on and they will cut inside and look to link up and create. i like naisy in the 9, he and romelu work well together and he's a hard worker.
