  1. I like the lineup and hope browning and Kone get some time.
  2. for that kind of stuff weather report (heavy weather, black market), return to forever (light as a feather, where have i known you before), jeff beck (blow by blow, wired, live with jan hammer group). as a drummer check out tony williams lifetime, he's like the godfather of jazz fusion drums, he's usually in most drummers top ten. those are some of my jazz fusion favorites. all 70's classics but have that technical stuff with some nice ballads as well.
  3. also from those stats Tim seems more durable, 38 a season except 3 seasons which were 36, 36, 37. begovic was the hot ticket a year or so ago, but once mignolet went to the shite, no one has really been interested in him (no rumors to other leagues that i've seen either). didn't have a standout world cup either (against 2 easy teams in the group, iran, nigeria, argentina). maybe he's not what everyone thought he was.
  4. no for 50m. i think you guys are on to something here though. barkley tracked back and helped in defense, but the counter threat and also his ball holdup skills allow us to move forwards. some may not like that he spends a lot of time on the ball, but at least he retains it. others on our squad want to get rid of it the second they have it and often give it away.
  5. yeah man he's great. i dig jazz fusion, so i'm familiar. that's cool you're a drummer, i'm a bassist but just play electric.
  6. robles hibbert browning alcaraz garbutt gibson besic atsu/mcgeady oviedo mcaleny kone
  7. George bensons 60's soul jazz outings with brother Jack mcduff. I'm reading George's autobiography (fantastic read, he's a great story teller btw) and its pairing nicely.
  8. exactly. we need a RB and two young centre halves first.
  9. Maybe it's time to blood browning at CB. If also like to see Alcaraz. He ha some good games last year, and passes well out of the back without looking like a deer in headlights (jags). Stones and Alcaraz next prem match please.
  10. only watched the last 20 minutes so i won't vote.
  11. game on, BAINES. well done. let's get 2 more!
  12. just tuning in to this, what the hell has happened. just watched tim give up a goal for the 3. lets go lads, get a draw now
  13. american's own man united, liverpool, arsenal, aston villa. chevrolet sponsors man u. no american's own a bundesliga, la liga, ligue 1, serie a team. american's play in the BPL (some in the bundesliga as well) as well. there's american corporate and personal interest in the BPL. if that was the case with the bundesliga, i'm sure we'd all be watching that each week and i'd be on a borrussia monchengladbach forum. i agree with the entertainment value and that's due to league parity, but talent wise not the best in the world.
  14. amen dude, you've lived here a while haven't you? yeah they just threaten to move and have some pics taken in the paper of them in "other possible location city" and the whole city goes in an uproar, unanimously passes the stadium tax, and life is good. i think the teams are so ingrained in the fabric of life in england this couldn't happen.
  15. best league in the world? last 2 champs league finals 2 germans, 2 spanish, english no where to be found. last 2 europa league finals, chelsea winner, other teams were 2 portuguese, 1 spanish (winner). sorry steve, english teams may be fun to watch and the competition in the league has more parity than la liga or the bundesliga, but talent wise the results speak for themselves, not the best league in the world.
  16. Same here Steve. I'm an American and every city here foots the bill or pays most of it and makes their money back in 10 years and then just banks the cash after that. Helps the city, and boosts the local economy, creates jobs, and it pays for itself, win win. Not sure why liverpool is so apprehensive.
  17. Exactly. On top of that, he's not playing terrible. As paddock mentioned earlier and others have in the Romelu an naisy threads, he's making good runs and creating space, he's taking on both centre backs and leaving room in the middle for naisy to score. He got his first goal of the campaign, he's headed in the right direction.
  18. Jelavic another goal, he's starting well this campaign. Might be the death of Pardew as well, down 2-0.
  19. No need just an opinion I hold, I'm not trying to convince anyone, just putting my 2 cents or pence or whatever you call them in. We were once governed by England, we left and I'd say aren't doing too shabby over here, Ireland's doing alright, India is booming, maybe the British empire wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
  20. I can say what I want, it's an opinion. Don't need you judging me though thanks. I stand by what I said, that side would win, lots of players looking for minutes would love to show a little something to the gaffer. Don't rate palace after pulis left. What lineup you looking for? What result? You gonna post something or just criticize everyone?
  21. we'd win, palace is shite this year without pulls.
  22. right, i think the point is they don't benefit much from the uK, but england benefits from them. hence why independence was on the table. i got your point, i got the bailout, i'm just saying they are fine, the EU has high standards (which is a good thing) but the US should have been bankrupt years go, we are bleeding money so fast and we are fine, so i'm saying although the media did the whole "world is gonna end in ireland" in actuality, they're fine and it wasn't. you're right no victory, but in 5-10 years time when all the old fogies pass on, i'm sure it will pass.
