I do think we need to upgrade the midfield substantially in the summer. I was debating your statement of "absolutely no quality in the midfield." That's simply not true.

Last time I respond to your posts. Defo a WUM. On block list.

Thought Allan was pretty effective after coming on, Gomes looked positive until he picked up his yellow, and Doucoure has talent he's just fallen off a bit as of late.

To say there's absolutely no quality is pretty ludicrous. There's just no depth. Hoping Onyango can continue to show quality

Doucoure for all his running and energy can’t pass a ball absolutely dreadful. Gomes is like a ballet dancer in there, too lightweight. Allan I like but legs gone.

Now take McGinn from Villa. That’s a proper player. Clever, aggressive and hungry he stuck it right on us from the start and we shit. We are so weak in the middle of the park it’s ludicrous you think otherwise.

  3. Ffs get Rooney back. Bring a scouser home. Rooney and Dunc together UTFT 💙

“When you here the coppers shout… ey put the candles out!!! We are the Goodison Gang!!!!💙💙

We have no manners, We bless our tanners, we are respected wherever we will go!!!

Walking down the Goodison Road, All the windows open Wide!!!

When you hear the coppers shout ey out the candles out!!! We are the Goodison Gang!!”

Getting healthier and the addition of new players.

Here is the thing. If you bring in Rafa and give him no money to work with you have to know how it’s gonna go if we perform poorly early on. I can’t believe that those doing the hiring could be that naive that they wouldn’t know what the reaction from the supporters would be. So logically you do 1 of 2 things. A. Don’t hire him and bring in someone with less baggage who will be given a chance by the supporters if we start badly or B. Stick with Rafa, knowing the heat that might generate until he’s given an opportunity to have a real window, clear out those who don’t want to be here or shouldn’t be here etc…

The club chose option C. Hire a controversial manager and then abandon ship as soon as the scenario that anyone could see coming from a mile off came to be. Regardless of what you think of Rafa, the club handled this terribly. Again, I refuse to believe they couldn’t see a situation like this as a real possibility so I’m going to guess they just lost their nerve and caved.

Although we only paid 1.7m for Gray he is potentially at £30m player (he is now anyway) if we’d spent £30m on him would you still be giving Rafa the benefit of the doubt?

Probably not, I know it's Scotland but I think it was Livingston who hired a manager who had been to jail for fraud.

He's a free man and has been rehabilitated, so I think it would be against what the justice system stands for to suddenly block him from being a manager.

Of course the US is different, and I'm sure he wouldn't be allowed on a US Tour. Not a massive stumbling block IMO considering how much time we spend over there.

Unfortunately having a criminal record does still affect people being in employment even 20/30 years on. I’d be very surprised if this hasn’t been brought up.

  6. Will Duncan Ferguson’s criminal record have an impact on the decision to hire him as a permanent manager?

He couldn’t travel to the US for Pre-Season.  Possibly not able to enter other countries. Ok I get that doesn’t stand for the PL but will it go against him?

Martinez inherited a team that was very much set in its ways under Moyes and had been together for a long time. Martinez had to begin rebuilding that squad and he couldn't do it successfully. You only have to look at Arsenal and Man Utd to see what happens when a long-standing manager leaves and how that unsettles the club for a long time.

I think there are arguments to say that Martinez could come back into club management and do really well but I don't think it should be here for a lot of the other reasons you have stated.

People really do not give Moyes enough credit for Martinez first season. The season before Martinez come we played some great stuff and we were (as always under Moyes) well drilled at the back.

No bunch of players will instantly forget how they used to set up and instantly take on the new managers methods. For that reason I don’t give Martinez complete credit for the first season. Yes he added to it but that by and large was still Moyes side.

I don’t want Martinez anywhere near the club

Would Dunc work under Rooney though - I completely agree and would love the pair but with Rooney’s lack of experience as a number 1 (not that Ferguson has any), would Dunc not think he deserves that shot? Maybe Ferguson accepts he needs to get some managerial experience elsewhere before he’s ‘ready’ or maybe he’d be content as Rooney’s number 2. I would get behind that idea though 100%.

I’ve just got a feeling Rooney is the man to take us forward. He’ll also be able to attract better players than Ferguson. Genuinely think it has to be Wayne now.

I'd be disappointed in Rooney if he ditched Derby at this point in the season. He's doing a good job under tough circumstances and while he may relish the opportunity to come to Everton I think he should be seeing out the season and trying to save Derby.

It’s a dog eat dog world we shouldn’t be worrying about Derby County we have our own mess to sort out

  10. Looking at the table we’ll need 35/36 points to stay up that means we need 4/5 wins and a couple of draws. Can you see anybody being able to get that? Especially with the run of games we have toward the end of the season 🥴.

I genuinely think he’s been sacked too late!

I notice you've given no opinion yourself, although I'm sure you have one.

My heart is saying Rooney but my head is totally against it.

We should not go back for Martinez. The atmosphere is already poison ☠️ a couple of defeats for Martinez and the fans would be on his back. Basically due to the previous history.

I think it’ll be Ferguson in the interim with Baines until the summer.
