As much as he would be my preferred choice I can’t see us getting Potter or any other manager who is already in a job.

Firstly why would he leave Brighton where he is under no pressure to join this circus where he knows he will be under intense pressure from the off and will almost certainly not have any money to spend so will have to go with the same squad of players that have failed so badly under 6 previous managers and knowing if he doesn’t turn it around straight away he will be out of a job in 6 months time?

Secondly with the FFP restrictions we are under after paying Rafa and his staff off , they are only 6 months in to a 3 year contract would we be able to pay compensation to other clubs if we nick their manager?

Why won’t we have money to spend? Come June all the deadwood will be gone. Sigurdsson, Delph, Tosun June 2022 all out of contract.

Richarlison 2023(highly likely he will be sold)

    Mina (2023) possibly sold.

We’ll be financially better off next season and if Richarlison/DCL go we’ll have a lump of money plus whatever else they’ll add.

That all sounds lovely, Aiden, really (no sarcasm) but the man himself said he couldn't have done the job longer when he last took temporary charge. He was spent. I also don't know if he'd cope with possibly being in charge while we get relegated ruining his reputation with some of our fans.

I firmly believe that if we gave him the job until the end of the season that he would take us down or before the season was out we'd be looking to replace him and that person would have barely any games left to save us at that point.

I really don't see Ferguson being in charge working if it's for more than a couple of games, and if we do go down the route of giving him the job until the end of the season then I fear for us.

What an awful situation we find ourselves in.

Agreed similar to Shearer taking Newcastle down. That team was much better than this one. That’s why I genuinely believe we are going!

Let’s also get one thing very very clear here.  The players have had about 5 managers sacked…… they can’t just be unlucky - the reality is we are riddled with a disgusting attitude amongst the players…. Not all but certainly enough to upset the apple cart consistently.

I think Rafa as divisive, stubborn and arrogant as he has been could tell some stories.

there is a massive massive job to do, this bunch of players are a fuckin disgrace

Mark my words this squad needs a leader in it. Someone who’s not scared to say it how it is right there on the pitch. Someone who commands respect.

We haven’t one player in that dressing tool who commands the best.

  4. Rabbit in the headlights at the moment he’s walked in to an absolute shit show.

Back pass was a massive brainfart. Got done on the wing far too easily in the first 10 minutes failed to stop the cross that led to the first goal.

It was naive of us to expect this lad to come into this league and be able start straight away. He’s got a long way to go and I just hope his confidence isn’t knocked.

'Everton board meeting to discuss Benitez future'

    http://www.skysports.com/share/12517144

Read Jamie Redknapps words - exactly why we should have swerved this guy. Forget his Liverpool connection, he's not a good bloke to have at a club.

If you can't be arsed to read it, he says he has a habit of causing chaos at clubs, is a politician, always blames everyone else, puts this person against that person, creates an atmosphere of the crowd vs the board.

    Tell me Redknapp is wrong?

Even tonight, when questioned, what was Rafas response? Not 'yep, we need to do better'. Not 'I'm responsible for these results and I must do better' but to say he's trying to fix problems of the last 5 years, it needs time, the top scorer has been missing.

Now, to be fair, he's not too wrong HOWEVER take some accountability. It's the medical department. It's the DoF department. It's past decisions. Everything is about reflecting elsewhere. He has too many ready made excuses here and it shows. It suits him to have so many ready made deflections.

Let's be honest, these same defenders didn't do too bad last year. Now they're a shambles. That's coaching. That's the Manager.

A lot of people at this club are taking the piss. The decisions are woeful. Fancy getting us into a position where we have the worst run of results in the past 5/6 years but we can't sack the bloke because we've either fucked it up before or we've given him to much say and power within the corridors. Who's managing the manager these days? Fuck me.

And I'm sorry guys, but we as fans have to hold our hands up too. We've wanted every manager sacked as soon as they hit a poor run. We've booed them out and forced the decision. We've not allowed any potential project to properly find its feet before We've got restless. A whole generation has been born, grown up, had kids, who have also grown up since we've had a run of success. We can't be classed as a big club, rather a club in a big city. I know that won't land well but it's reality.

I just hope we find a way that makes sense and allows everything to settle. From the boardroom to the players to the fans. At the moment, every part of this club is ripping it apart. It fuckin sad mate.

Redknapp nailed it. Everything he said is spot on. Benitez is an arrogant arrogant man. He could cause murder in an empty building.

It’s not a Rafa thing for me and I’m certainly not some kind of fan boy of his, I would say the same with any manager

If he goes I won’t lose any sleep but I just don’t think sacking managers every 6 months is the answer

Sacking this manger is 💯 correct and I hope the rumours are correct that he’s gone. Everton will go down this season under this man.

Don’t be a tit just because I have a different opinion to you

I go home and away and have done for years so I think I am entitled to an opinion and I can sleep well at night safe in the knowledge that I am most definitely not a Kopite

it was woeful today , especially in the first half , but I still don’t think giving Benitez one game with a full squad constitutes a fair crack of the whip  especially since half of them are just coming back from prolonged periods out with injury so are not match fit

Questions are rightly being asked but I’m still of the same opinion I was this morning in that he needs to be given the next few weeks with a fully fit squad before he can be judged fairly

Thats my opinion and I may well be wrong but that doesn’t mean I want Rafas autograph and it definitely doesn’t make me a Kopite

Lad I’m on the train home now with my son asleep next to me 5h journey and I’ll have my opinion too. If you still back him you’re surely on the wind up or a kopite.

We’ve changed manager four times so far, and it’s made no difference.
I’m fine with changing the manager… as long as half the team go with him.

Players make a team. If you don’t have players who will knuckle down…. Then your in trouble.

    Hi Shukes,

stop sitting on the fence trying to be a neutral poster. The guys toast pal

That’s all very true but that’s now 6 manager who’ve failed with what we’ve got so just maybe what we’ve got is simply not good enough?

As I’ve said previously it’s impossible to judge the manager one way or the other under the circumstance For me the next few weeks is the time to judge Rafa. We now have a fully fit squad bar Davies , who wouldn’t get near the staring XI anyway, and he has had a chance to bring some of his own players in. Albeit he hasn’t been afforded the financial backing his predecessors have

Im fully expecting results to change in the second half of the season and for us to start climbing the table, which to be fair is what Rafa said would happen all along

If they don’t then I will be wanting him out in the summer

    Hi Dunc,

You’re wrong very wrong and I’m sick of you and the other “Evertonians” sticking up for this melt.

Norwich concede 37 goals all season. They hadn’t scored since November.

Benitez Everton WILL go down. Hope you’ve had your shirt signed Dunc

That is certainly a part of what managing is about but Benitez must apply that in the context of a long term plan and strategy. Digne was obviously not prepared to even try to play the way that Rafa wanted him to so he had to go. We have signed 2 full backs before Digne has even left and it looks like we have this lad from Villa coming on loan for the rest of the season at least. Say what you like about Rafa but he obviously has a vision for Everton and is assembling the squad to make it happen.

He has to stay. We have to support Rafa and the team imho.

The negative atmosphere at the club at the moment is horrible. That’s the only way to describe it. Right now is a very very dark time to be an Evertonian

He may, or may not, be arrogant. If he can bring success on the pitch I really don't care. He is certainly starting to assemble his own team/squad and he can only be judged on that in another couple of windows imho.

If he can’t man manage what he’s got he doesn’t deserve another window never mind two. Im sick of hearing give managers a couple of windows every time we get a new one.

Managing is about getting the best out of what you’ve got. It’s about pushing the team under you as far as they can go.

    BENITEZ OUT
