    Totally agree

If I’m honest if we were in this mess with Rafa had he come straight in after Moyes I too would be screaming for his head. I think we all agree what we are seeing just isn’t good enough for our club. But the fact we keep changing managers and keep ending up with the same results says to me the players are the problem

Under Benitez for me there are huge mitigating circumstances, the main one being the unprecedented number of long term injuries we’ve had to key players. None of our previous 5 managers could get a tune out of this lot even with a fully fit squad so I think it’s grossly unfair to expect Benitez to under these circumstances

I have to admit many more days like yesterday will quickly see my patience wearing thin but I just think he tried to experiment to try and find the right solution with the players he had available and it failed spectacularly, although he should have seen it was not working and changed it at half time if not before

I just think we need to give home a chance to see what he does with a fully fit squad and a few of his own players. If we get shut now what message does that send out to any future potential managers?

Duncan. This is much much worse than any other manager has served up. This is complete and utter dross.

As I said in the Rafa thread I was told from a very reliable source yesterday that the fall out was to do with Dignes attitude around Finch Farm, it’s obviously only hearsay but I believe the guy who told me and if that is the case then I’m afraid I’m fully behind Rafa on this one

A lot of people in here have been calling out Digne for his poor performances for a while now and I think we’ve all agreed that we were long overdue a manager who won’t pander the these prima donnas and will put a rocket under their arses so would people be reacting in this way if Ancelotti had frozen Digne out?

I just think people are so desperate for something to beat Benitez up with that they don’t want to know who is in the right here

Yes it was ridiculous playing Coleman on the left of a back 5 but maybe the reason Digne didn’t get a game is because we need to sell him this month to balance the books and therefore couldnt risk an injury

But he was far from the problem - the results remain the same.

I genuinely don’t see this being anything other than a senior player questioning Benitez methods. How dare he question Benitez!?! This is two egos that have clashed and unfortunately for your mate at Finch Farm Digne has always been a model pro UNTIL Benitez came in. Who has a history of falling out with players, coaches and colleagues.

Wake up! Benitez is the decay in the rotten tooth.

Ancelotti was backed to the hilt in the transfer market yet still resided over the worst ever home record in the clubs history and he didn’t have to deal with half the injury issues we’ve had to important players Rafa has had to so let’s not try to make out we were not shite last season as well

Im not saying Rafa is the man to take us forward but he inherited a shite side and hasn’t been able to spend any money then had a disastrous run of injuries to our most important players so he hasn’t really been given a chance yet

Who are you going to bring in?

Who the fuck would want the job knowing we have one of the worst squads in the Premiership and can’t sign anyone yet they will likely be sacked after 6 months if we aren’t top of the league ?

We're already in the shit with FFP so sacking managers and paying them off every 6 months is not really the way ahead

Like it or lump I think we are stuck with Rafa for the foreseeable future

Ancelotti also dealt with a lot of injuries last year and managed to get 59 points. It was a much more harmonious club back then as well wasn’t it??

Whilst dealing with the injuries - Benitez has now fallen out with arguably our best player. Adding more woe’s to a depleted squad. Back room staff are leaving left right and centre. Brands walks.

Can you not see that Benitez if destructing everything at the club from within. Nobody likes him, he is in constant denial.

What reliable sources says he just wants better?

Im not defending Rafa for the shit show today, he was clearly culpable for picking the wrong formation and then refusing to change it until it was far too late

However Rafa  is not to blame for the mess we are in and we simply can’t keep changing managers every two minutes

Its not a lack of effort that is costing us it’s a lack of quality so I don’t think he has lost the dressing room at all

We were shite long before Rafa pitched up and the same people who are refusing to give him a chance are the ones who were saying we need to stop the jobs for the boys and we need to give the players a rocket up the arse  but are then up in arms as soon as that happens

I honestly doubt Pep Guardiola could get a ten out of this lost so I don’t see the point of sacking yet another manager

Sorry Duncan. Rafa Benitez is a major major problem. Ancelotti had this squad in the top 6 for 80% of last season. We have lost Sigurdsson from that squad.

The football is horrendous. The tactics are horrendous. The denial from the man is horrendous. Answer me this…. Could we do any worse? 1 win in 12???

Don’t suppose we will ever know the truth but it’s a very reliable source that has him down as a bad apple

Personally I like him as a player but plenty on here wanted to see the back of Digne due to his poor form but then slate Rafa for dropping him 🤷🏻‍♂️

He was far from the problem. A reliable source states a world class defender wants better.

We are in serious serious trouble under this lunatic. the club is just existing under his tenure. It’s shambolic. He’s lost the dressing room as well it’s very very obvious.

Had a interesting chat with a mate  of mine who knows someone at Finch Farm before the game and he told me an hour before the line ups were announced that we would be playing that formation with Coleman on the left .Apparently they’ve been practising  it all week in training, not that it showed

It clearly didn’t work and I can’t believe he left it so late to change it . The players didn’t seem to have a clue what they were doing and the second goal summed it all up.

Seemed ridiculous to have Coleman playing out of position with Digne sat on the bench, although he also  said that Digne is meant to be a right tit and has a massive attitude which is why he has had the bust up with Rafa

Digne should be playing in a better team tbh mate. Highly doubt he’s a tit he just wants better.

You're spot on, Barkley in this team would burn Goodison to the ground.

I just caught a replay of Chelsea's 3-3 draw against Zenit. He gave the ball away so cheaply on numerous occasions, and was a passenger far too often. He has his moments where his quality shows, but for the remaining 90% of the match, you're tearing your hair out trying to figure out what he's doing.

Absolute bollocks. He would thrive in this side.
