Say we got him for 20 mil have him for 5 years then sold him at age 30/31 for probably what 3/5 mil?
 
Same with Lukaku but sold him at 25/26 for 20/25 mil?

He would have to be a 25/30 goal a year striker for us. I just don't see it, but I hope if we get him I'm wrong and you're right.

Have you watched Swansea all season? From what I have seen from Bony (which isn't alot i'll admit) he is very much a similar player to Lukaku.

Was listening to Talksport this morning and they made a good point (For a change) they named all the players who had scored more goals for England than Rooney has (Think it was 4 or 5) then asked how many of them had been played out wide?
 
Why play a striker out wide when you've got players who actually do play out wide on the bench and a player who also plays out wide, starting down the middle (Sterling).
 
The blame has to lie with the manager, it now looks like he is going to swap Sterling and Rooney for the next match.

If he doesn't want to drop Rooney then he should play him as the main striker with Lallana Barkley and Sterling behind him, put Sturridge on the bench.
 
No point in taking the youngsters if they don't let them play from the first game. Bringing them on to win a game from a losing position or expecting them to help you win the last 2 games after losing the first one will put far too much pressure on them.

I think Maloney is underrated but he's definitely got a level. I think he'd be a useful squad player here.
 
Still big questions for me with a mcgeady I kind of get the impression he's not a 90min player. Also end product.... Still ???

The odd game does nothing tho. Vic especially didnt get the game time when he needed it, JV was constantly injured and hard to argue either way, I dont think Baxter got 90 mins and Hibbert/Osman came through at a time when we didnt have much of a choice Hibbert made his debut before Moyes was at the club and probably only got his chance cos of the injuries to Watson. Osman was 23 ish I think before he played regularly (and played as a winger). Rodwell did get game time but got injured yet thats it over a 10 year reign.
 
Im not saying that the players who have dropped down the leagues and done well would ever have made it as Premier League players but they were never given a real chance despite the small squad, crippling injury lists and the poor form of the first team. Its too coincidental that in Martinez's first season that 2 players who were either never used or sparingly used now have England caps.

Age is a massive factor in the price of him, the fact he is young and can get you them goals is why he is rated as £20 million.

Only 9 Strikers got 15+ goals in the league this season with only 2 20+ so I'd say 15 goals for a striker is somewhat of an achievement and something that is pretty difficult to find.

We don't need loads of money, how good is that our defence cost next to fuck all yet its up there with the best in the country, if not Europe.
 
All the players we've sold over recent seasons we haven't missed in the long run, I think having loads of money sometimes hinders a team more than you would think, look at Spurs last season, they had that much money they just went an bought any player that looked half decent, ultimately it cost them as they should have been competing for the league after spending that much really.

I think Barkley gets away with alot more because he's a local lad and everyone is hoping he's going to be our best CM for a long time to come, which I totally understand. Stones hasn't really had a bad performance as you said apart from the Derby, but he has made a few mistakes which haven't been punished, probably why no ones mentioned it.
 
I don't ever think Lukaku will get 30 odd goals a season but I do think he will be in double figures most seasons barring injuries and depending on how good a season the wingers have in whichever team he plays for he could get close to mid 20s.
 
I think Gerry has got everything he needs to be a good winger, he just needs it to click into place. I think it will be when he's about 23/24 he will hit his prime. I could be wrong as i'm not exactly a scout or anything but I think he's too good to fall away into an average player.

Thought he was one of the best opposition players I seen at Goodison this season, will cost too much for us to get him tho, think he'll end up over the rd at the kopites.

my point is, play to his strength, he will score goals. 14 goals, 6 assists. He is responsible for 20 of our goals

Most goals. Most shots on target. 2nd most assists. We scored 59 goals so far, he is responsible for 33% of them. How much more evidence do people need?!
