I agree with your thoughts on Sigurdsson he has done well enough but I think a different type of player in our current team/system would offer more. Familiar story for Sigurdsson.

Looking forward to this one. I see a real progression in the team and hope we maintain the momentum until the end of the season.

As a junior whenever  I asked for advice from an old supervisor his response was always “tell them to get fucked” stood me in good stead throughout my career.

Obviously we didn’t win comfortably today because we actually played well and nullified the opposition. So what was it? Too sunny for United? 
Quality all over the pitch and we made it so Pickford had next to nothing to do all game long.
The defence was determined to get a clean sheet. The midfield were tenacious and creative. And DCL was a nuisance without getting anything at the end of it. 
Have patience and let the management make the signings they want to and I believe we’ll be flying next season.

I’d really like to see him play in behind the striker. He could run the game from there. 

He has done a good job for a young lad, I don’t expect him to be leading the line in the 20/21 season. I’m more than happy for him to prove me wrong. We need a 20 goal a season striker, I’d love it to be him but I don’t see it. 

If he did then I’m glad because these players shouldn’t be allowed to get away with being powderpuff. 

On that note we need to see a lot more from a few of them.

It was just a game that lacked quality really. It wasn't one that will live long in the memory, but we took a much needed three points. It didn't matter how we got them, just that we did. So in that regard we did our job perfectly.

Bailey his lack of awareness is like I’ve always said he sees the ball and nothing else, that’s why I came up with like a dog and ball magnet, but he’s 29 played all his life like that and you won’t change him now. 
When Gylfi and Gana are playing in midfield together the third mid was left hung out to dry as I’ve mentioned before, because Gylfi offered fuck all to midfield playing more as a second striker and Gana was running all over the place going awol  
Now we have all witnessed it for ourselves don’t play Gana with Gylfi because the midfield becomes none existent, for me that doesn’t mean the end for Gylfi in games were we want to be more attacking in our play it’s Gylfi Davies and Gomes and in games were we want to be more defensive it’s Gana Davies and Gomes

For me Gylfi has to produce tonight I would have liked to have seen him dropped tonight with Bernard in the middle and Walcott on the right. 

We need to sort out the defence, particularly set pieces. I’d be happy to see the last of zonal defending. 

And it’s not just the one injury is it? I loved MCCarthy as a player but I think his time here is over.

This is it exactly for me. To many balls going into and to the edge of the box, and coming straight back. Crosses going in with no one anywhere near them. 
For me the midfield have enough of the ball in the final third to create chances. But there has to be someone in there reading the game. We need a proper forward.

I would be happy with that line up. I think Bernard could be a real influence on the game from the middle.

I was tempted to go with Kenny but Coleman is quicker and more experienced and Redmond might have a field day with Kenny 
Give Sigurdsson a break although his stats haven't been bad he hasn't  looked as effective of late and Gomes Bernard both put the yards in and I'd like to see what Bernard can do drifting forward centrally
DCL deserves a start he's had a great week so his confidence should be sky high 

Swap Gomes for Gueye and I would be fine with that for this game. Gomes for all his qualities doesnt react like a defensive minded player and I actually much prefer Gueye as a sole DM. I think that is where he excels.

Happy with that would have preferred a home tie though.

The last 5 years tell us he won’t be able to play consistently. It’s a shame because he could have been great. Time to move him on and bring in a player of the same skill set who will actually be able to play regularly.
