It feels like decades since the last match. I know the rest of the games are basically meaningless, but COYB!

I wasn't sure to post something like this so I thought this thread was safest:

I'm an American who came around to Everton fairly recently. Like a lot of Americans though, I've loved soccer for years--supporting our national team since they qualified for the World Cup in 1992 after 50 years out of the competition. But I didn't have an EPL team until recently and I picked Everton.

All that said, I fucking love Everton. I'm new at loving Everton, but I love Everton. I know we are having a tough season but I'll never support another EPL team. I picked my team. I love my team and I'm not changing. This message board is awesome and part of the reason I want to support Everton always.

It's late at night to starting faking sickness, so I might have to pull some shit tomorrow in the early afternoon. I do feel a cough coming on that people in the office wouldn't want to catch.

Grasping for positives: The second half attack was good and would have been excellent if Lukaku puts away a couple easy ones. Gibson looked totally in command in the midfield.

I don't put this one on RM. His players were in position to make the plays they are paid to make and they didn't make them.

Holy shit Lukaku and Howard are almost literally taking a shit on the pitch.

Keith B got a reaction from Matt in McCarthy or Mirallas, who would you sell if we needed £20m?
For me, Mirallas has certain moments of individual brilliance, but he disappears for long stretches during matches. I'm just not confident in his consistency so I'd let him go for 20M. (But I'd turn around and try to get De Bruyne for 25M or so. I love that guy as a football player.)

Stones in the midfield! He's been great moving forward.

I poured some bourbon at halftime. I'm much more optimistic now.

Monday is a holiday in the US so I'll be watching from the beginning. Can't usually get home for Monday fixtures so I'm excited to see the 3-0 pasting we are going to lay on West Brom!

Thought the Southampton loss was the low point. Then I thought the Newcastle loss was the low point. Now this Hull match....

To paraphrase American football coach John Mackay: We can't defend, but we make up for it by not scoring.

If he's outside of the budget then so be it. Seen him a couple of times and he just looks very good everytime. But you have to give tons of credit to our guys. That's a team that is #2 in the Bundesliga and we beat them with a combined score of 6-1. Looking forward to Sunday and hoping we maintain form. Also, we could use some health. (Credit to the backups who have filled in admirably.)

The biggest positive to me was that the defense looked more organized than it has to date. There wasn't much space for Sterling and Balotelli. I thought Howard played mostly well. Maybe he should have made that save on the free kick, but also don't forget that that penatly was garbage. Balotelli flopped; there wasn't any contact so it should never have been given.

They didn't get much going offensively but I think that was the game plan. They played it safe and limited their mistakes. I think there are positives to build on going into Old Trafford next week.

Think I've been through all the posts, but haven't seen anyone comment on Lukaku. I thought he was hugely disappointing today. He didn't create any chances that I recall...didn't look to have much energy or pace. I think we need more out of him going forward. Of course being young as he is, you'd expect some growing pains. Can't blame him for the draw--that was a team effort.
