Finn balor Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 The season opener. A lot of doom and gloom going about but I for one think we are going to have a great season. In the next few weeks im sure Roberto will get in 3 or 4 loans of high quality which will have us going against the big guns. Saying that im worried about playing the Foxes. They will be playing with no fear and full of piss and vinegar. Id be amazed if Rom didn't play, Bobby knows what the start of the season did for us last year. Rom and kev should be fit they were only subs at the world cup. Anyway I fancy a tough game but a 1-2 win. Barkley and Rom Quote
bluenosetoffee Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Normally I am optimistic about these type of games but I have a feeling it is going to be a draw.... Newly promoted team, first home game of the season and the fans optimistic about the coming season....Hopefully I am wrong and we can turn in a performance. Lukaku should be fit and ready with Mirallas. Quote
FairWooney Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 hmmmm not confident. We've not played great in preseason and not looked too sharp. Hoping that gets ironed out next week. Coleman likely missing the game is a loss. Hopefully Lukaku and Mirallas are ready to play. Going to go 2-1 to us - Naismith and Lukaku Quote
verreauxi Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Yes, pre-season doesn't mean much, but it is data; and given the data I hope we are lucky to get a draw. Obviously would love a better result. Quote
markjazzbassist Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 i'm expecting a win. we are top 5 they were championship, i don't care how much guts and glory and rah rah, we should win and i expect us to. Quote
duncanmckenzieismagic Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 I don't think we could have asked for a harder game to kick off the new season and with Mirallas, Lukaku and Coleman all likely to be missing its difficult to see where the goals are going to come from. I would happily take a draw at this point but not sure we will get one Matt 1 Quote

Lowensda Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Leicester 2-1 Everton Nugent Baines Ulloa Quote
Paddock Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 I think we'll get beat as well. I hate saying that but I can only tell the truth about how I think it'll go. My heart tells me a win but my head says lose. Quote
Brett Angel Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 2-2.... Will dominate possession but 2-2 it will finish. Quote
Cornish Steve Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 2-2.... Will dominate possession but 2-2 it will finish. You're in a time warp. And it was Norwich. That won't happen against Leicester. Quote

Bailey Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 I think both Rom and Mirallas will start. Quote
duncanmckenzieismagic Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Arsenal away, man utd away, the shite away, man city away..... Behave yaself dunc. I would rather play any of those teams away first day of the season than play the newly promoted Champions. The promoted teams always start well and its never a good time to play them Matt 1 Quote
milesey05 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 If pre season is anything to go on (which is hard to ignore) then i predict a scrappy 1-1 draw. Leicester's first game back in the Prem will be like a cup final atmosphere and on the back of a very good pre season and winning the Championship their confidence will be sky high. I say scrappy 1-1 as i can see Leon, Hibbert and Naismith all starting. Wins will always be tough to come by when this is the case. Quote
bluenosetoffee Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Hopefully Lukaku, Mirallas and Coleman are all playing. I know this is the first game of the season and I have said it has a draw written all over it but this game has to be treated as a must win! After Leicester we have Arsenal & Chelsea both tough games but the most winnable one in August is our first. COYB Quote

markjazzbassist Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 Howard Coleman Jags Distin Baines McCarthy Barry Mirallas Barkley Pienaar Lukaku damn that lineup looks good. Quote

Brett Angel Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 This is what worries me. We get nothing here we could end up played 3 no points. You know this is not the everton way. We pick up points against arsenal and chelseaChelsea and get well beaten by Leicester. I've already read the script. Quote
milesey05 Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 Line up i expect to start. Howard Hibbert Jags Distin Baines Osman Barry McCarthy Pienaar Barkley Naismith. I'm hoping i'm wrong just like my normal footy bets and we do see Mirallas and Rom Coleman too. Got a feeling Roberto will start them on the bench and say they just lacked match fitness to start. Quote
Matt Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 some strange line-ups being put forward, almost nostalgic! I'd be going with .................Howards................. Stones Jags Distin Baines ........McCarthy Barry........... Mirallas Naismith Atsu ................ Lukaku................ OR .................Howards................. Stones Jags Distin Baines Besic McCarthy Barry Mirallas Atsu ................ Lukaku................ Ossie and Pienaar shouldnt be near the starting 11. I've dropped Barkley because all through preseason he looked terrible. Quote
Paddock Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 Just been let down with Leicester tickets. Gutted doesn't even come into it. My boy is gonna be heart broken when he gets back from sports camp later and I have to tell him. Can't believe it. Major Quote
