  1. 1966 cup final the game that led a nearly 7 year old Geordie living in Swindon, to become a passionate Evertonian, and I've loved every moment of it. And Shukes does Lukaku score a hat trick hahaha.
  2. Natural goal scorers are hard to come by, look at City last night, Agueros not playing so rather than go with a lesser talented striker who the manager most have doubts about scoring they go with 3 forward thinking midfielders up front, which got the desired result. When Lukaku leaves at the end of the season we won't be able to replace his natural instinct to score goals, with the likes of Deeny,Rondon,Long and Austin they just don't cut it. So maybe the way forward could be 3 goal scoring midfielders who can work well as a unit similar to what we saw last night, and forget all about trying to find an orthodox striker. And please can we stop saying that any of the above which I mentioned are better than Lukaku, there was a time when you would have been put in a asylum for being thought as crazy for them believes, let's just all agree that they are different.
  3. Haf I wouldn't argue with you the majority of strikers in the league do put in a shift, but don't score enough goals, then you have a very small minority that do both the likes of Costa and Aguero, be honest with me when I say that they are out of our league even if Moshiri said here's 100M go and get Costa, he wouldn't sign for us. The only way we are going to get a player like that in the foreseeable future is mould one, in the same way as Wenger did with Henry. Shukes your right as well it does appear that as a club we have had a lot of strikers that don't score, mainly because we never had the funds to buy in a proven goal scorer, so the next best thing was to look for players that would work hard to make up for the fact you weren't going to get a good goal return. Now we have a player the first for years that knows where the net is, and your not happy with him because he doesn't cover as much ground as Deeney, I for one would take the goals over the miles, if before he came here he had it all in his locker then he wouldn't be here, would have been at City, Utd, Arsenal, the shite or still at Chelsea, that is I'm afraid is the reality this club has to deal with at this moment in time. And Shukes what you said about moulding him into a player that works as well is slowly starting to happen, his last two performances are heading in the right direction, but the sooner he becomes the player we want him to be the sooner he will be gone, then your get your Deeney and we will be moaning that he doesn't score goals, and some will be defending him because he puts a shift in.
  4. The 0-40s are at the moment way in front of the 41s-infinity, that's great for the support of the club going forward. But I do feel sorry for them that they missed being a part of the seventies and eighties, the music and football was legendary.
  5. Any manager would say the hardest type of player to find is one who can put the ball in the net on a regular basis. There are loads of Deeney type strikers out there, that will run all day for the team, it looks good on the eye and the stats for the amount of ground covered, but they can't do what they were brought in to the team to do which is put the ball in the net regularly. To me that makes Lukaku a better player as a striker than Deeney hands down, because he scores goals which is the most important thing you would want from your striker statistically. The only way you can disagree with this, is if you believe that scoring goals isn't the most important asset a striker should have.
  6. In the Premier at this moment in time I would take Costa, Aguero or Sanchez in place of Lukaku in that order. Can't see anyone else in this league who could do a better job than him for us.
  7. Eric if you score and keep a clean sheet, yeah your get something out of it, it's called a win and 3 points, dope.
  8. On the subject of Scottish independence I believe once we start the process of leaving the E.U, we actively encourage Scotland to hold another independence vote and keep our fingers crossed that they vote leave, because our economy is going to shrink and it would help us if we didn't have to keep bailing out there 15 Billion deficit. And I'd even go as far as to say if N.Ireland and Wales wish to follow suit let them go with our blessings it's money in the bank for us. Cornwall can't go we'd miss there Pasties and cream teas to much plus there very dog friendly.
  9. I'd like to see Mo Farah win, but I'm sure Murray will take it.
  10. The Watford game proved Barkley wasn't at fault for the way we have been playing, possibly most fans would agree that that was the worst Everton performance they've witnessed in 15 or more years, Koeman didn't drop Barkley to teach him a lesson he dropped him because for some reason only he could come up with, is McCarthy could do better job in that position than Barkley, he has quickly realised that he's made another monumental fuck up in picking a team. Can you show any evidence that Valencia has not been match fit for let's say the last 10 games, I've looked but can't find anything you are referring to, unless it was August or early September maybe, he has trained like the rest of the team twice a day five days a week, and if a manager thought a player wasn't fit he would stick him in as many reserve games as possible to get his match fitness up. He hasn't played him because he didn't rate him simple as that even when he was getting his cameo appearances the supporters could see he was making a difference but Koeman couldn't.
  11. When the prime minister said yesterday that it will take about 10 years to sort a trade deal out with the E.U, do you think she was lying, just to appease the E.U elite, when we were excluded from a meeting with all the other members to discuss our exit do you think that was just for show to keep the natives quite. I think we are going to have a real tough time a head of us, the Germans, French and Italians will make sure of that, they won't want an exodus on their hands so will make sure we are made an example of.
  12. And some people believe everything Koeman says. Rubbish what you said about Valencia. So your saying he was right to play McCarthy against Watford as the number 10. And Barkley deserves to be dropped when the whole team are playing shit, and he's being made to play in away that doesn't suit his talent. Wake up and smell the coffee mate.
  13. I think He's been making bad choices in his quest to try and help his defence do there job, cause let's me honest he has been left very exposed by some dodgy defending in recent months, he needs to trust his defence and possibly Tuesday's result may go someway to steadily improving the trust between keeper and defence.
  14. 57 and still none the wiser. MikeO get well soon mate.
  15. I've kicked it off Cornish I hope people get involved with this.
  16. Sorry Cornish miss interpreted what you were saying. Haven't got a clue.
  17. Unless we have some injuries that we've not been told about I'd go with that rusty.
  18. Cornish how bizarre to suggest that whether someone is executed or not is a trivial matter that people don't care about, to be fair I don't remember that particular vote and I'm 57, had a look at you profile to see how old you are, but it doesn't show, when I voted I consulted my children as even at my age I considered it was more their future than mine, fortunately for me the 3 of them were going to vote to stay in which was perfect cause that's the way I wanted to vote, but there grandparents all chose to vote out and there all in their late 70s and early 80s, I think there should have been an age restriction on if you were given a vote, because the younger generation voted to stay in by over 70% but that was taken away from them by people who may have died from old age before we even leave. The vote should have been for people of 16-65 and if you're older than that tuff what difference is it really gonna make to them.
  19. To say Koeman was brave because of the 4 changes he made from the Watford game is probably the worst piece of sports journalism I've read this season. 1) People on TT have been saying for weeks that he needed to start with Valencia after his cameo roles when coming off the bench, it didn't take a genius to see that he was turning games around, but Koeman couldn't see it. 2) Jags for Mori is that really inspired management, not really either would have been as capable in that game due to the midfield putting a shift in, and giving the defence some respite, Jags struggles along with the rest of the defence when they are constantly under pressure for most of the game. 3) The inclusion of Barkley, he shouldn't have been out the team in the first place, I don't think there would be many managers who would leave a talent like Barkley out there team, I know we haven't seen him at his best in recent months, but I put a lot of the blame for that with Koeman he has completely taken away his confidence, by firstly criticising him in public, and stifling his freedom to express his talent by playing him in positions were he becomes in affective, and in some ways coaching the creativity out of him, by wanting to change him instead of working with what he's got. 4) Playing McCarthy in probably the only position we know he is capable of playing in, again is that brave management don't think so, play McCarthy in that role and that is what you get from him, stick him in midfield as your playmaker and he becomes a passenger, still cannot believe that Koeman thought he could play that role, that is inept management at its worst, which then created the hysteria we witnessed of people flagging of McCarthy and demanding he goes in January, when really it was Koeman who fucked up by dropping Barkley and expecting McCarthy to play that role, it isn't McCarthy who has taken Barry's position once fit for me he was always going to be an automatic choice, unfortunately it was Gana who has come into the team and played Barry out, love Barry but at his age it was always going to happen sooner rather than later. 5) Playing Lennon instead of Delli or Mirallas was about the only brave or inspired decision he, that did pay off for me, but based on everything else he's done was that more luck than judgment. To summarise Koeman for me is not a brave insightful manager who knows what he's doing far from it, it has taken him months to realise the things that people have been shouting for for a long time. God help us with this man.
  20. Still think he's a prick wouldn't give him any credit what so ever for that win, it was all down to the players who were shown the way by McCarthys dogs of war display the same McCarthy that about 70-80% of people were saying was shite and should be ousted in January.
  21. Unfortunately never saw the game listened on radio and followed TT forum, from what I'm hearing a proper toffee performance, full of fight with a dash of good football. Love this club.
  22. If anyone believes he wasn't involved in the signings of Bolasi, Williams,Gana, Stekkers and the loan of Valencia, then they need a serious reality check, Walsh will look and highlight players but Koeman will have the final say on any business done 100%. He regularly started games with his first 4 signings, which is equivalent to about 38% of the starting 11, so surly we should have expected to see some improvements, but we are seeing quite the opposite, personally that scares the shit out of me.
  23. Stekkers. Holgate. Jags. Mori. Coleman. Oviedo. Delli. Gana. Barkley. Lukaku. Valencia. That's what I would like to see, but what ever he chooses he must be prepared to make substitutions as early as 30 minutes if players aren't doing as told, that might give them the kick up the arse they need.
