  1. Verstappen fastest in Practice as expected, but Hamilton down in 9th ! For all the usual sandbagging and pre-season smoke and mirrors about being slow it seems that there's genuinely issues with his pace at the moment. Leclerc and Sainz 2nd and 3rd fastest (do Ferrari actually have a title challenging car again?!) with George in 4th. Very excited about this new season, qualifying is off (IIRC) at 3pm UK time.
  2. Bet you write lovely anniversary cards.
  3. Bet you nearly set your phone to factory settings when you saw he scored in the 109th minute !
  4. Whereas the win wasn't down to him personally, I wouldn't have a problem with him staying in goal for us. First clean sheet since November, and was part of a rock solid defence tonight. It's harsh for Pickford, but tough.
  5. Basically said it's not a sending off and that a few decisions tonight were dodgy.
  6. Exact same here . I have a 10 month old with me as she's been sick today, finally managed to get her asleep and Iwobi sticks it in the net. Never lost my shit in silence like that before. Think I've broken both hands from punching the air that much.
  7. Whereas I've been critical of Coleman in a footballing sense (and rightly I'd say), he's a fucking excellent captain. All the attributes you'd want in such a ranking. Fair play to him for calling out Craig Pawson too, the fucking drip.
  8. SO COME ON COME ON, GET DOWN TO GOODISON PARK WOOOOOOOOOAHHHHH
  9. Someone jumped out of the Gwladys Street to give the protestor a kicking.
  10. Whereas I have been critical of the fanbase in the past, you can't expect people to create an electric atmosphere for a group of players that don't look interested, don't put a shift in and don't create any spark whatsoever for 90 minutes. It's a bit like being asked to stand next to some dog shite on the pavement, and to sing and chant for the binmen to come and clean it up for an hour. The fans should be up for the game yes, but when you're averaging a single shot on goal a game and providing minimal huff and puff it's to be expected that the crowd are completely dejected.
  11. Would be typical for him to get three points when we badly need them!
  12. It's all well and good having games in hand but if you don't win them, they're pointless. Sick of this narrative (not having a pop at you personally) about these games we've got in hand as we don't look like scoring in them, nevermind taking maximum points. The league could wipe all our games and start us from scratch with 38 to go and I'd still put money on us going.
  13. Don't want to be "that guy" but that's us down for me. We're honestly gone. There was absolutely no fight or desire out there today, bar Gordon and Richarlison. The players applauding the fans at the end have a cheek too, hide for 90 minutes and then do a mini lap to the Gwladys Street as if it's been a hard battle that we've come out second best in. We were only even going to draw 0-0 or lose, unless Gordon somehow does it all himself.
  14. We look very good defensively, but because we're playing five at the back there's not much for us to counter with, don't look like scoring in a month of Sunday's. Hope on the our mark we take off Seamus, move Jonjoe to right-back and get an extra man in the middle.
  15. Just got to the game, there's an eerieness about it but I'm buzzing for the game for some reason, I think that at home we've been able to shake off our demons under Lampard, so hopeful that we can snatch three points here.
  16. It's a well known fact that the ToffeeTalk MOTM scores that @MikeO collates are then displayed on a 52" TV inside Finch Farm. Reports are that the players are fuming with Noah Bhaadi for leading the way so far.
  17. Wife is making our traditional Sunday breakfast and whereas I normally have two hash browns, there's three left in the bag so I'm having all of them. It's a sign! Everton 7-0 Wolves
  18. It's easy to go overboard on young players, especially when they come from the academy but I don't think I could love Anthony Gordon more. He absolutely gets it and you can tell he'd die for the shirt - exactly what we need and exactly what, if we had, would see us at the opposite end of the table and out of this mess. If we do manage to retain our Premier League status, I'm desperate for us to have an absolutely massive clear-out, there's so much shite rotting in the wood at the club that needs to be removed. There's only a handful of players that I'd genuinely be fussed about keeping around. Absolutely.
  19. I'm buzzing for this, feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve at the moment. Why do I do this to myself?
  20. I caught 15 minutes and had the exact same thought, the football was bordering on comical (which in turn made me all the more depressed that we're in the mix of this shite). Glad Brentford won though, keeps Burnley in it.
  21. Bit like saying that wearing aftershave is better than shitting in your hands and clapping.
  22. If we go down there's no way we will be anywhere near the top of the Championship.
  23. Don't tell me we are actually going to play a left back at left back and a right back at right back?! Edit: Nevermind, we're just going 5 at the back to make 5-0 seem respectable.
  24. Don't understand after tonight how anyone could argue against Pattison at least getting a run in the team - Coleman is absolutely done at this level.
