  1. I'm so bored of results on the pitch being secondary to figures on a financial report.
  2. Even though we're wafer thin on strikers, if we can get anyone near what we paid for Beto I'd take it - Maupay can obviously leave too (for free IMO).
  3. The Consortium between Ambani, Riquelme and Alex Nyarko.
  4. Craig Shakespeare has passed away, aged 60.
  5. The events on Monday made me for the first time in my life seriously consider the prospect of emigration, I've never felt so disconnected from the country in which I live and as a father feel an overwhelming amount of responsibility to give my children the best life possible - I don't see the UK improving anytime soon and despite being somewhat pleased the Tories finally left, Labour (from what I've seen) have been despicable. The UK is absolutely fucked, and is heading towards Civil War on the streets.
  6. All three are the kind of players that I could see moving to somewhere like the MLS. I'd think most people in England know they're shite, so will likely head overseas to continue their career with a decent paycheck to go alongside.
  7. I'd send him back on loan to Portugal personally, there's a spark there but I don't see how he's going to unlock it getting three minutes here and there (as he was last season). Get him to a mid-table team on the continent; Braga or the likes with a view for him to be in the setup come 2025.
  8. If we are to sign Phillips, he's the kind of player that you'd need to bring in sooner rather than later. A muddled pre-season with City and question marks over his ability, fitness and confidence isn't going to do him any good and allow him to hit the ground running. He'll need a full pre-season with Dyche's arm firmly wrapped around him IMO. If he's a deadline day signing or anything like that I think you're looking at a few months to see what he can do. As for moving, I think he definitely will. Apparently Pep all but said he would go and as @Romey 1878 stated, he was apparently shite against Celtic.
  9. His tournament was summed up perfectly when Portugal won a free kick on the left wing, perfect for whipping it into the box and he took the ball, shot from an insane angle and put it into the atmosphere.
  10. Don't know whether to laugh or cry, what a hot mess.
  11. Absolutely spot on, his body language has been abysmal too. Imagine Pep or (hate to say it) Klopp in this scenario, they'd be going absolutely batshit crazy on the sidelines and booting bottles about. Gareth is stood there with his hands in his pockets like a cheap garden gnome.
  12. I'd happily take Mike Bassett at this point.
  13. I can't even be arsed. This tournament will easily go down as the worst in my lifetime, easiest route to the final that you could ask for and he's pissing it up the wall. Its literally as if he's Agent Benitez at Everton and it's self sabotage, what the actual fuck is Southgate doing?
  14. Surely it's hard to determine what counts as an inflated transfer fee. It's obvious what one is of course, but proving is surely extremely difficult. It's quite literally down to opinion, no? At what point for example does the threshold go from sensible to inflated for Pickford; £20m? £50m? £100m? £117m? £185.25m? The whole thing is funny though, the Premier League are absolutely terrified of the clubs beneath them and cannot enforce, or govern their own rules.
  15. Its been a strange tournament in a way. I'd say that England, France, Croatia and Belgium have all underperformed. As much as they did very well in the first two games that's a massive loss for Portugal too. There's only really Spain and Germany who are "in form" amongst those likely to win it. The real tournament starts now though. I remember Portugal being comically bad, finishing 3rd in their group and then winning the whole thing a few years back. The group stages are for momentum and nothing more, everything is now reset. That said, England have massively killed my buzz to the point that I've hardly watched any games. To make a side this good on paper so dreary and lacklustre is actually impressive - as someone who has always been behind Southgate it's a shame how its gone too.
  16. 10 in 27 for Feyernoord last season (league games).
  17. Absolute no brainer to cash in on him, sentimentality aside and it makes perfect sense. He hasn't been a striker good enough for where we want to be since the Ancelotti era, and that was a long way away now. Yes, he's popped up with some big goals when asked (for which I'll be eternally grateful) but he's not been fit enough for about two seasons now, nor has the form when he is fit to justify sticking around. I'm pretty gobsmacked Newcastle are in for him tbh, I thought they'd recruit much better. Goes without saying that we'll need to replace him, but that shouldn't be a reason that he sticks around (or gets a new contract).
  18. What an absolute blert Danny Murphy is. Throwing his arms up in the air exclaiming "What's the point in making subs with five minutes to go?!" before both subs combine to grab the winner for Portugal in the 92nd minute. Probably why Roberto Martinez is paid millions to manage a national team and he's co-commentating for the BBC. Such a negative helmet.
  19. It's amazing how much Belgium have wasted their golden generation. They could really have been something special but they're miles off it and this was undoubtedly their last chance. Not on the same level, as France won things but it reminds of how they'd go to major tournaments and just fuck it up through mass in-fighting.
  20. World is filled with some right bellends ain't it.
