Don't want him sacked. If we get a good cup run and don't get relegated he deserves a shot at what will hopefully be a good and professional pre season unlike last year's one. If we still struggle and no improvement by end of September/start of October then yes, get rid but for now I'd rather back him for the remaining games. There's something in me that really likes Martinez and last year I thought he was fantastic. A fresh and attacking manager who feared no team and had us playing lovely football. What the fuck has happened this season I honestly don't know. As I said, pre season was the beginning of the shambles that we've seen this season. I don't know if playing in Europe is a good enough excuse either, looking at the players we have in the squad. Something is majorly wrong and the sooner this season finishes the better. I actually think second half we looked as much of a threat as we have been all season. Gibson's forward passing was one factor and I actually think that Atsu's movement helped us. We lost today because of Howard. Such a frustrating season this has been.

Think that's very unfair on other posters here who aren't season ticket holders like myself. Supporting Everton is certainly not a hobby to me. I revolve my weekend/midweek around Everton fixtures. If we lose it does spoil my weekend and put me in a foul mood. I watch every game online but I try and go when I can. I live in Cardiff but originally from North Wales so when I go home I try and go to Goodison. Went Stoke game boxing day (terrible game) and managed to go to Swansea capital one cup (even worse) and I'm going to Bern in the Europa next month which should be good. However, after the Stoke and Swansea games maybe it is best if I stay away so apologies in advance if we lose again. Do I think we'll go down? No I don't think so. Must admit seeing the table on MOTD just now got me slightly worried that Hull are only 3 points behind us and sitting currently in a relegation spot. Huge game on Monday against what will be a very organised and hard working West Brom under Pulis. He managed to do us over last season with Palace and that's made me slightly more nervous.

Don't forget that Lukaku is younger than McAleny as well. Only 21 so technically he should have been out there with the other youngsters tonight but he wasn't because he's streets ahead of them in terms of development and vital for our 1st team. Excites me that he's only 21 and I (we) tend to forget that I feel when he doesn't perform.

What does excite me is if we keep being solid defensively we will score goals as we are so dangerous on the counter attack. Mirallas makes such a difference. Brilliant player, please sort his contract out sooner rather than later. Remember we were without Naismith, Coleman, Baines, Stones, Barry, Pienaar, Oviedo, Gibson and Alcaraz tonight and we still won 2-0 to the 2nd team in Bundesliga. We're getting better and better and with the Prem so open this season there's no reason why we can't make a fight for fourth.

Hope Cleverly wins myself. Don't like the way Bellew has come across in this fight. Can't take to the guy, hope Cleverly silences him.

He looked good tonight. Best cameo I've seen from him since his injury. He should get a bit more playing time now, and a good chance to give Barry a rest once in a while. Think we have 4 very good centre midfielders.

2. The International break will give time for players to get their fitness back. I'm talking Coleman, Barkley, Gibson, Oviedo, McCarthy.
3. It's also good for others to have a break. Barry, Eto'o, Distin, Pienaar, Howard.
4. Some may laugh at this one but I'm looking forward to seeing Kone back. Think he'll offer something different and take a bit of pressure off Lukaku. Could be like a new signing.
5. We have a nice run of games coming up. Winnable games, where there's no reason for us, with our strongest XI, to go on a hell of a run.
6. I have faith in our manager. Some of the things on twitter I've seen are embarrassing. "Get Martinez out, clueless Spaniard." Very confident he'll turn it around.
7. We've lost today, but I'll still be an Evertonian in the morning. I love the club and will always give it my full support.
Lets have a nice break now and hopefully recharge the batteries over the next few weeks. Come back with a fitter and hungrier squad who are raring to turn things around.

As far as I'm concerned Stones is our best CB now and by quite a long way. The 20 year old had to carry our 32 year old captain at times. Not having a go at Jags here, only pointing out how special a player Stones is, and he's only 20.Glad to have Distin back and I'm sure he won't let us down today.
