duncanmckenzieismagic reacted to MikeO in Summer Transfer Window
Patrick Viera played until he was 34, Gana has 4/5 more seasons in him for me. Keep, priority.

For me this season has delivered exactly what it promised.
A season of transition whereby we’d have a rough patch or two and also get some brilliant results. Our football would improve but there’d be teething problems and we’d struggle implementing some of our plans.
This was a season of learning - finding out which players would work in what Marco (and Marcel) wants this team to be, finding out what problems we need to fix to make it all work.
I’m pleased with the season when taken as a whole and can see the progression. I hope for a bigger progression next season though and I’m excited to see what we’ll do this summer.

Just think you would have got the same numbers if we had a vote on whether Kevin Sheedy had a left foot or not (Pete would still vote no)

Is this a real thread?

I don’t think he’s that bad, he absolutely terrorised our back four at Craven Cottage the other week and he is an improvement on what we have got
Would prefer Wilson though

duncanmckenzieismagic reacted to nogs in Marco Silva
The facts are we've gone backwards since Moyes left. Martinez was a massive disappointment after a fabulous first season, Koeman an absolute disaster after a strong second half to his first season. We really need to hope that pattern doesn't continue, otherwise we're facing the start of another cycle, another three, four years away from where we want to be. Top 6/Europe this season could have been another false dawn. Silva has seen the size of the job in hand, he's faced the backlash from the fans when we play shite, he's stuck to his principles and made another pretty bleak season end with some promise. There is serious work to do with the squad as we have nowhere near enough depth in quality, but with the best youth system in the country at present and a DoF who has shown already he can be pretty shrewd about how he deals for top talent, I'm confident Silva will have us make a real tilt at the top 6 next season.

I would have said Lucas Deign and Gomes were out of our league last summer but he got both of them in

It's the dream, it was in Liverpool's hands before that; be so sweet if it was us that cost them the points.

If you want to know how they have managed to get that far ahead look no further than the PGMOL and the FA, yesterday was another perfect example of the corrupt agenda to make them Champions
If VAR was in this season they wouldn’t even be in the title race

So has Baines, Jags, and many more players.
But watching, I honestly don’t see us getting over run in midfield at all. I never witness these clear chances he gives away either.
I have challenged you to show them by putting them on here for all to see, as that would be clear evidence it actually happened. But you never do. It could be that it never happened or you just don’t feel inclined to do it. Either way, I’m not bothered about it anymore. This whole saga is ruining the site.
You won’t accept clear facts.... like when you say he hides away, and I put on clear FACTs that he had more touches than any other player in the match, not just team.... but you choose to ignore that. Which makes having a conversation about it pointless, as you can just deny any reasonable points I or anyone else make.
But its also started to taint other threads now, as people are arguing any point you make now, as they think you are on a wind up.
PeteO, I honestly don’t know if your just having a bit of fun with this or not.
Your opinion on Gana is valid. It’s yours and yours alone. But the whole denying facts and inventing these clear chances he gives away, isn’t. It’s made the whole thread pointless.

All the Arsenal players scream and shout (and moan) for 90 minutes, and they're a team of absolute fucking fairies.
Sometimes you do need someone who'll scream and shout, but I look at Jags and think he's been a great leader for us. Both on and off the pitch. On it he's put his body on the line for over a decade for this football club. He might not be waving his arms round, drawing attention to himself to the fans, but I'm fairly certain he does a lot of talking on the pitch.
People have leveled the accusation that Michael Keane isn'tt committed etc but, ffs, that lad fractured his skull playing for this football club. He played with an infected wound for months and months because he was new here, we were having a rough time, and he wanted to be on the pitch to help.
