…and all of the January 23 window. He’s been a long-term target. Players take time to settle/adjust.

We literally spent all summer trying to get Beto. Just because you weren’t reading about it every day in the papers doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

Amadou Onana on his future: “For the moment, I remain 100% focused on my performance on the pitch. This is what will determine my future and that of the club.”

Amadou Onana: “But I must admit that this change in atmosphere and finding a team with high quality players changes the mood. Mentally, it does me a lot of good."

Amadou Onana: “I’m not going to say international duty is my main source of motivation because I take very seriously the task that I have with Everton, namely, to help the club to survive.”

There’s something about Belgians and international breaks with us!

It was similar to Luton and Fulham/Wolves to a point but the big difference is Garner’s in the position where Gana has been and can take that chance and Harrison is a natural right midfielder and the quality was evident - better players in their natural positions means we’ll take more chances when presented. Gueye had a big chance at 0-0 vs Luton last week - had Garner been there, it could have been very different.

Chances mean nothing if they fall to people like Gana, but if you play the players with the ability to take chances, you can win a game with only 3-4 chances.  We scored 3 goals and didn’t need to rely on DCL that doesn’t happen with Harrison on the bench Garner wide right and Gana central midfield.

I think Dyche is in big trouble if we lose on Saturday. I’m tired of all the chopping and changing but at the same time I’m not arsed if he goes… I can’t stop caring and still go every week but Everton are just meh to me - nothing surprises me (apart from when we actually win). I try to block the negativity as much as possible and avoid the subject of EFC with non-Evertonians as it’s enough to send me mad!

Young was 100% at fault for their 1st goal yesterday so not dismissing a poor performance but we simply should not be playing Garner on the right at home to Luton when we’ve got Harrison and Danjuma available. Gueye didn’t need to play yesterday. Poor tactics by Dyche.

Poor set-up today - credit for the past week but shocking today and it’s very much on Dyche.

Play Harrison in front of him for 90mins and we’re not talking about this.

We’ve lost 14 of our last 17 games at home.
Absolutely dumb founded how winning 2 games away from home has somehow created a ridiculous “told you he needs time” knee jerk reaction.
All the green likes etc. all giddy cos we beat Villa….. it wasn’t lost on me that he would find a way to go back to his tired ineffective system of playing centre midfielders out wide.

Lucky we got him on loan with no obligation then. Play him centrally with Beto or DCL and McNeil and Harrison either side and you’ll see what he can do - that will stretch even the top sides something we’ve not been able to do in a long, long time.

Needs to play in a 2 more with Garner - may happen now we have McNeil and Harrison ready (players who will work all over and non-stop). I do think Dyche will revert to Gana and Doucoure though.

    1st point - yep.
2nd point - Young’s a useful player - I want Patterson/Harrison to be the first choice partnership but don’t get all the hate for Young - one of our few players who is comfortable in possession, bags of energy, versatile and actually has a bit of know-how. He’s not a long-term option but is valuable in the short-term.

Evertonians need a scapegoat - it’s what we do.
