chicagoblue reacted to Newty82 in Longest Thread! for Everton Discussion
Trust ToffeeTalk to go offline at such am important time ššš
Anyway, like many of you, I can't remember the last time I had this much fire in my belly for the club. Its proper galvanised me and I only wish it was easy to get tickets!!!
Goodison Park is going to be the most hostile stadium in PL history. That fund for banners etc has raised Ā£27k...we know our lot won't hold back.
You won't be able to hear the PL anthem. I feel for any PL officials that step foot into Goodison.
The PL have revealed themselves as a bunch of incompetent snakes. And the world will see it.
We've basically been punished for building a new stadium. That same stadium, which will be phenomenal, will be used by the PL to promote the 'greatness' of the league...we should tell them to fuck off and not use anything of ours to promote theirs (I know that's not how the real world works, but still...)
What's worse, is the club has communicated and played inline with several PL demands (wages, transfers etc), and been punished for relevant transparency. Yet the likes of City and Chelsea continue to be evasive...
All you guys who go every week...give it to em proper šš¼

It is true. Its in the official case documents. It says they chose not to stand in and speak for the club. So the PL easily batted away the clubs claims that every expense etc was agreed...because we didn't have the representation. Absolute disgrace in my opinion.

I'm all for being petty as fuck. Don't play the PL music, don't line up for the fair play handshake, don't have the stupid cardboard PL signage for them to stand in front of when the handshake usually takes place, don't have the PL badge on the arm of the shirt (or cover it up with a black armband or something).
Give them nothing of their fucking brand.

As with every other time we have been first to be charged with something, the rules will change before it gets to any other clubs.Ā
Ā
We already know the independent regulator to be set up by government doesnāt believe in sporting punishments (points deductions) so weāll take the hit. Maybe weāll get it reduced to six points on appeal. Then the independent regulator comes in and settled with City and Chelsea on a world record fine (that will be a drop in the ocean for them).
Goodison needs to be horrible now.Ā
My mate suggested it would be nice to see the players just run out of the tunnel and on to the pitch, refusing the stand for the premier league music and then go and shake hands with the other team on the pitch (no need to disrespect the opposition, just the competition).

Go and look at who the members of the panel were and tell me how the fuck that's an independent panel.
Also, one of them was the finance director at West Ham when they got done over the Tevez affair. Funnily enough as well at the time he came out and said West Ham shouldn't be punished on the pitch.
I'm gonna get a t-shirt sorted to wear at the United game with the Premier League badge and Corrupt printed underneath.
Fuck every last one of the bastards.

This could mean we finish about four places lower than we otherwise would, meaning a reduction in TV money of several million pounds. It IS a fine - and a complete farce.

FFP regulations are a joke. Essentially clubs with a larger turnover are allowed to spend more. They use the narrative that these regulations are in place to guarantee clubs' financial stability, but that is not true. The punishments for breaches put the clubs in even more dangerous financial instability. They simply don't care about the well-being of the clubs. And regulations like these only make the spending disparity even bigger, which is not a competitive fair play.

Are you crazy! Dyche would never do a tactical sub at half-time. Jesus...š
Onana got a knock in the first half.

Nothing that I saw.Ā Probably a bit precautionary and tactical.Ā Onana coming back from injury and Gana has been ok since he has been on.Ā Less space for Eze now but he is still a threat.

Unsure that Dyche is telling them to sit back.Ā Doubt he told McNeil and Harrison to turn into ghosts.Ā Do think Dyche just needs to be braver on hooking some of his favorite players for legs at times.

Itās really worrying how no one on the pitch is trying to get hold of the ball, slow it down take things in hand. Just letting ourselves get drawn into their way of playing.

chicagoblue reacted to Hafnia in Blue Bill's shiny new stadium at the docks...
Looking forward to taking my sons to their first game tonight. Canāt wait. They like me will respect the tribute to Bill like all decent blues will do and I hope they understand that itās important to be remembered for the good that you do in life. Football for many people is something to do, to others it is their life.Ā
Bill drove me nuts as a chairman - I canāt pretend I was ok with his role - his passing does not alter and should not alter peoples views of his running of the club. This seems to be the bit that the media are trying to tarnish Everton fans with. Bill could mix it with the most vociferous of protestors, he could mobilise his mates to do his bidding. He was no idiot.Ā
He suffered a horrible disease and passed away and he did good things for other people which surpasses the boundary of football, and yeah despite my frustrations with him - he did a fantastic job in making us proud with Hillsborough tributes and marking the passing of big Evertonians. That makes him a better person than a lot who walk this planet - for that reason alone he deserves a fitting tribute and it should be remarked that he was a good humanā¦ we donāt need to read about his corporate performance, enough has been said about that and now isnāt the time.Ā
Ā
Ā I wasnāt a monarchist as such but could not understand people using the Queens death to have a go at the monarchy. Have decency, have respect. Ā Being the big mouth in the crowd of people trying to show respect doesnāt make you edgy or militant- it makes you a twat.Ā
