Just rewatched the goals and 4 of them we conceded are unacceptable, ball watching not closing down and just dicking about. RM needs to man up and drop Jags. Moyes had no right to make him captain, basically lumbered him on whoever the next manager would be.

It's worth mentioning that under Moyes we pretty much defended as 11 players. The defence always had everyone in front of them defending, so any frailties they may have had were well covered up. Now there's been a clear shift towards a more attacking game and therefore the defence do not have as many players responsible for covering them.

I'm not saying that's the only reason for why we've conceded so many, because Jags is clearly playing like a clown with Distin not being much better, and Coleman seems to have returned to being that naive defender he arrived as, but it's worth thinking about. I've said it loads of times but I don't think our defending was much better last season; I was always on tenterhooks when the opposition came at us, so I'm not altogether surprised with what's happening atm.

Simplistic. It was a Martinez team that conceded fewer than all but City and Chelsea last season; there are certainly things wrong this year but that's just a daft (and easy) assessment.

Yeah, real shame as we've been in on it from the start and had the family connection; would've been a great story but the very best of luck to him. Hope he has a great career.

Sure you wouldn't just like to interview only Liverpool fans? I mean, you're basically just Liverpool TV after all.

We seem to have gone back to the dreaded (for me) zonal marking. Disaster waiting to happen, whoever uses it.

Also, I used to think Yobo looked like Bambi On Ice whenever he had the ball at his feet but Jagielka and Distin make him look like Franz Beckenbauer (or maybe Rio Ferdinand, when he was at his best, for those who only know the EPL)

To be honest, despite the defensive cock ups, I would point the finger at Roberto again after subs coming on too late or the wrong player coming on. Something Moyes was mercilessly criticized for (quite rightly too). Atsu, won't be eligible for the next game, should've come on for Pienaar to give Arsenal something to fear, but no... He should've come on for Ossie around the 70 minute mark too to attack tired Arsenal legs.

If Roberto cannot get his players to play for 90 mins, physically or mentally, he has to look at his training methods. Its all very well and good trying to outscore the opposition, but you still need a sturdy back line. The main reason I am so annoyed is because we gave it away due to "mentally tired" despite being "phenomenal" for so long. Lessons were not learnt from Leicester. 4 points we have given away now in almost carbon copy circumstances; sloppy defending, tired players and wrong subs.

Lets hope Chelsea will suffer the wrath...

Saw that, don't believe it; Hamilton being a whiny bastard putting his spin on it. Why would Rosberg do that? Be just as likely to put himself out of the race as it would Lewis.

If he decides to go in the future then I'll be made up if he just doesn't grow to be that into it then so be it. I wont force him. At the minute it's a case of encouraging and giving him the chance. Whatever way he decides is fine with me.

    Sensational Loa
Sensational loan hey? The same loan system that the Daily Mail berated Everton for using, as being unfair? BUt Liverpool Loan someone in and it's SENSATIONAL???

Everton Loan someone - "Should be reviewed", "Joke"

Liverpool Loan someone - "Sensational", "Fantastic business"

Robles has disappointed me in his command of his area and his inability to catch the ball from crosses. He needs to sort that out urgently but his all round game is pretty solid for a keeper that age and his shot stopping is pretty good. He managed to replace Al Habsi AT Wigan when he was in the form of career so he definitely has the ability in him. I think some of the stick he does get is a little unnecessary because Howard makes the same mistakes and it barely gets mentioned, but then again he has earned or trust and proven his quality.

To be fair, up until last season I've been banging on about a new goalie for about 2 seasons prior but in Howards defence he had a good season last season, probably his best in an Everton shirt so deserves the gloves again this season.

Keepers do get better with age of that there is no question. That being said, I would swim all the way to the States with Howard on my back to swap him for Begavic (or a keeper of similar ability) Howard has been guilty of some serious clangers himself but keepers mistakes usually highlight tenfold over an outfield players. A striker misses an easy chance it's not remembered hardly, where as a keeper lets in a soft goal and it's never forgotten.

I personally think the hype over Howard over just one game is ridiculous. Keepers have games like that all the time every Saturday somewhere in the top divisions of football across the globe. It's talked about appreciated and moved on. Howard had a good game against Belgium but hardly enough to change an airports name (i think it was) over it but I guess that's just what our American friends are like and it's benefitting Everton in terms of our global appeal so it's a win win for me.

It was no different under Moyes, possibly worse. We had mid/long term injuries with zero indication of when they'd be back from either the manager or the OS ("return unknown" was the most common evaluation).

Shakhtar have apparently made Barnard available for Loan. Arsenal are interested but he would be a perfect playmaker to replace Barkley for the interim. Top, top player.

That would be attacking midfielder 9 for the Arse if they get him. Come join us Berny, pretty much a guaranteed starting berth.
