GoodisonRoad Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Naismith by a country mile for me. A goodison first as well singing "there's only one Steven Naismith" He earned that today. Gutting result though. Edited August 23, 2014 by GoodisonRoad MC11 1 Quote
Romey 1878 Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Naismith by a fucking country. No a fucking universe. Now I'm going to get drunk and lose the anger. MC11 and GoodisonRoad 2 Quote
MC11 Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Barry?? delusional. Naismith ran his socks of all game! Quote
Bailey Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Barry or Baines for me but I have edged with the former. Naismith showed some real heart and graft but I just wanted to see a little bit more quality from him in key moments. Quote
Ten Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Barry?? delusional. Naismith ran his socks of all game! Why? Agreed. Quote

Naismith showed some real heart and graft but I just wanted to see a little bit more quality from him in key moments. Yeah, Naismith did a good job using his body positioning to draw fouls and win headers in the second half, but he hardly got on the ball at all in the first half where his lack of pace really hurt us and a quicker player would have gotten us a couple of goalscoring opportunities that just didn't develop with him spearheading the attack. Shukes Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Naismith for me. Hurt them all day, won headers got into space, received the ball in the last third and scored a fine goal. Even at two up he still annoyed the hell out of them. Real honest performance. Romey 1878 1 Quote
MC11 Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Why? Agreed. Sorry mate just frustrated. I didn't really notice Barry as a stand out tbh. I thought Naismith and McCarthy were head and shoulders above everyone else and everyone knows my stance on McCarthy but he's winning me over. I seen what he's all about today because of the pressure we were under. Quote
johnh Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Was out so couldn't watch the game. When I saw the result I thought 'I bet they equalised in injury time'. How right can you be! Gutted. Quote
Paddock Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Naismith for me. 2 games behind the striker 2 goals. Hope he grabs this chance with both hands because he was excellent again today. Was made up for him when the crowd were singing his name. Quote
MC11 Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Naismith was the main striker today Paddock. Lukaku played on the right Mirallas on the left. Quote
Paddock Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Naismith was the main striker today Paddock. Lukaku played on the right Mirallas on the left. Soz I never worded that right. 2 games 2 goals and that's alls he can do. Whether he is behind the striker or the middle of a front 3 he can't do anymore than what he has done. Quote
Newty82 Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Naisy for me. The wee bas'tad never stopped! He must have been the most fouled player on the pitch today. A real pain in the arse for them lot. He's just what we need in that team...Bit of old school determination and controlled aggression. Just wish he had more pace!!! Quote
Brett Angel Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Tim Howard has pulled off one save in two matches. Think he used them all up against Belgium. Quote
Paddock Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Tim Howard has pulled off one save in two matches. Think he used them all up against Belgium. He hasn't stood any chance whatsoever in all 4 goals to be fair Brett. Quote

A real pain in the arse for them lot. He's just what we need in that team...Bit of old school determination and controlled aggression. Just wish he had more pace!!! He was fouled 6 times, 4 times more than any other player, apparently. I absolutely loved his performance yesterday, it had me beaming. He was intelligent with his movement, used the ball well IMO, beat the lanky shit Mertersacker in the air a few times, finished silkily for his goal. What I loved most though? He's a brilliant snide; he got right under the skin of the Arsenal players - he had them by the throat and never let go. Chambers fouled him in the second half and he didn't agree it was a foul and was telling Naismith so but Naismith just laughed at him. Quote
Blueherts Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Naisy is reminding me more and more of Alan Shearer with every game. Such a pity he's scottish.... Quote
BlueBlood81 Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Naisy all day long. How many times did he win the ball in the air? Loved it! Thought McCarthy was really good as well, never stops running. Quote

Paddock Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Totally agree and I can believe Im the only one who voted for Jimmy Mac! He was just behind Naismith for me. He worked his socks off and he was all over the park. Breaking play up, setting attacks up , tackling like a terrier and also supporting well in attack but Naismith ran his socks off as well and was busy and clever all game. Just pipped him with his goal for me. Quote

Gwlad Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Naismith. He never gave up, could see he loves this club. Quote
Matt Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Naismith again, followed by Rom for me. Loving that Naismith is continuing to flourish, showing how intelligent he is and not just a grafter (which he does in spades). One of Moyes better signings but a complete revelation under Roberto.
