I think 'flop of the season' is a bit of an over exaggeration. Obviosely, a writer who's not looked at the bigger picture of how he's been used, he's just looked at a couple of numbers and made a call on that, all a bit lazy to be honest - if you going to make a call like that - at least look at the players stats in a bit more detail.  Minutes on the pitch - its likey to be closer to 10 games worth of time on the pitch (900mins ish), starting half a dozen or so.
Beto has not set the world on fire by any means, but by no means been 'flop of the season' in the PL.

Thats a pretty big injury list - so wouldn't go near him becasue of that. One big shift in our transfer stratergy has been trying to bring in robust players who are in the treatment room less. The like of Tarks over Mina's.
shame, as agree he looked a decent player.

    https://www.football365.com/news/which-premier-league-teams-are-on-tv-the-most-sky-sports-tnt
I was quite suprised to see this. We seemed to do OK in the number of game shown on TV this season. Each game on TV apparently gets a 'facility fee' , which is around £1.2m per teleivised game. We had the joint 7th most TV appearances.
I would hazard a guess there has been a bit of a morbid curiosity around Everton's relegation battle this season -  based on number of game  mid table teams got, I would say it bagged us an extra 5 TV outings - So maybe an additional £6m TV revenue than maybe we would have got if we'ed simply been a mid table team throughout the year.
It only kind of makes up for some of the prize money our points deduction cost us, but every penny counts!!!!

Looks like Barkley will be off to Villa.

Given they have got CL football next year - they will be quite a draw to a player like Barkley. However, see him very much as a bit part player there as opposed to near to first player on the team sheet at Luton. So I see him fading in to obscurity again just as he did at Chelsea (and when on loan at Villa!!!)

Surely we stay away from players with this sort of history even 1 year can cost a few million

I really like the look of him - looked like he was off to Atalanta in Jan and said then it looked a steal for them. I hope we’re in for him.

after being put on the naughty step for mentioning him in another post -  Jordan James is a player I like the look of.
     https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/birmingham-city-players-who-could-attract-transfer-interest-this-summer/
Being a Welshman I have seen him as a regular starter in the Wales midfeild at 19 (has 10 caps now in past calader year). He also grabbed 8 goals as a midfeilder in a struggling Birmingham team, but also talked about as a defensive midfeilder, so has a number of qualities needed in a midfeilder. Shortlised for Championship young player of the season. Rooney holds him in high regard as a player.

Like I said when you mentioned about signing players from the Championship in another thread - it's definitely somewhere we should be looking at and Wharton (and others) show there is value to be found there too.
We rely too much on going for 'Premier League' experience. I mean, that's why we went for Maupay and look how that's turned out for us. He's not a bad player by any means but instead of going for someone more suitable we've signed him because he knows the league.

I don’t think this is a dead deal just yet. The problem is that Brentford know how desperate we will be for cash and know that the £10m option is more than they’ll need to pay most likely.

I can't disagree with those listed - performance wise.
A couple of massive moments stick out form me, which I though impacted our season massively, Onana's pen miss that saw us go out of the League Cup, that was the start of our really bad run, and the second was Newcastle having a second goal disallowed when we went to there place(pressure was building massively by then), we went on to get a equalizer in that game, and the game after got the massive win over Burnley to end the non-winning streak (yes, I know Burnley was a shit performance).
Chelsea thrashing also seemed to be a bit of a watershed moment. With hindsight, getting beaten up that day did us a massive favour as it seem to give everybody the kick up the backside needed - been excellent since.

That's a wrap on another season and I'm immensely proud of the players and the management. That isn't something I expected to be saying after a season of two points deductions and one hell of a bad run of form.
We've faced a lot of adversity this season. Some of it we brought on ourselves but the majority of it was thrust upon us by others, and I think it would have been the end of other teams and other fan bases. They'd have sunk without a trace. Not Everton Football Club and not Evertonians though. We responded magnificently on the whole and fought for everything we've earned this season. Nothing has been handed to us. In fact, we've had nothing but people try and take away what we've earned. For all their efforts they couldn't break us and they've only made us all stronger.
I'm going to enjoy the summer break now and hope that Everton don't find a way to hurt me without even playing.

gutted, I really thought we just might of ended the season with some sort of result.
Impressed how the team approached the game even though it was a dead ruibber of a game for us, Arsenal did not get an easy ride from us. They where very fortunate to get a winner.
decent enough performance from us to finish the season on.

We lost 15 games this season. Only you would pick a win and a draw in your worst three. 😂

it would n't surprise me if the two weeks deadline, is as much professional curtesy as anything, given that 777 have been bank rolling us for past few months and by putting money in.
I have got the feeling  777 Partners will be at risk of collapse if the deal goes belly up. However, think is enviably dead now, and 777 are probably in panic mode now.

there is no way the PL will 'sign off' on 777 Partner in their current climate, and they are not turning all this around in a fortnight (or 10days now).
PL don't have to come out and formally 'reject' them, they will just keep saying that 777 are not yet in a position to demostated that they are fit and proper to be owners.
I think the truth is that once the Everton takeover door slams shut on them - 777 Partner are in a whole heap of trouble, beyond what they are already in. This one looks like a house of cards

It is appearing that 777 can't pay the bills at other companies they own, never mind pull together £158m, plus £60m working capital, plus enough money to finish a stadium.
they are not going to meet those stipulating to be ratified as fit and proper owner.
PL comments you refer to where also made before a Belgium and Brazilian club under ownership has just turned to shit for them.
A lot has changed in the month since PL comments.
