  1. He is not an attacker, so no, he does not score or assist much. He is not quick, he is average speed, he can head the ball well, and I would argue his positioning and passing choices are good, he is not rash, but does take yellow cards for the team when he has to. Is he as good as Doucoure, Gay, no, but he can come in and do a job in a good midfield if he has players that don't leave his weaknesses exposed.
  2. I think you may be a little harsh on Tom, just a tad mind
  3. From all the reports I have seen he looks ready, he is a good age to start and if partnered with Tarks then he has a good teacher. Got to be better than Keane or Holgate, plus if we don't start him soon then we will have to sell him as he will not want to stay. Plus I think he was agreed a pathway to the first team so I would be amazed if he was not given a chance for the first few games.
  4. He is a squad player who we do not have the funds to replace, he is a good footballer, loves the club and will give his all. If we had hundreds of millions to spend (again) then yes lets get someone better, but we don't, so better to have him than not.
  5. Current Player of the Season standings.... Alex Iwobi...165 Dwight McNeil...110 Jordan Pickford...81
  6. How much money would we get for him, and how much would it cost to replace him? Is it not better to keep him and let him go at the end of next season. On the books his value has to be low as he only has 1 year left on his contract. Plus if he is going on a free he will want to attract clubs.
  7. That's my point, players like Iwobi, good players who can get us to the top 10 we already have are going to be vital. We need to prioritise other areas rather than replacing a good player we aldready have.
  8. We need 2 new strikers, 2 wingers, left back, right back and maybe a centre back just to have a squad that can compete. We don't have the finances for proven quality signings. Therefore we are going to be aiming to get as close to the top 10 as we can.
  9. I think he is a quality player when in the right team, I think he is a first team starter if you are aiming to get into the top ten or for a Europa conference / league place. If you are aiming higher, he is then like all but Pickford and DCL a squad player. We should be aiming to make the top 10 - 15 next season.....
  10. Given where we were with injuries etc, yes absolutely right to move him. Another plus for Iwobi is that he never through his toys out of the pram and just got on with it.
  11. With better players around him his best position is in midfield. His running and passing are a real asset.
  12. He scored a couple of world's. Good guy and good luck to him. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=4770417069635492
  13. Godfrey is a good center back, however he has played all over the back 4 in the last 2 seasons, and until Tarks came has not had a dominant centre back to learn from. He needs a run of games in his best position, as centre back, to develop. Under Dyche he can kick on if given the chance.
  14. Gomes and Delle will both go in the summer, either on loan in Gomes's or contract torn up in Dele's case.
  15. Moshiri was always going to be under scrutiny due to his links with Usmanov.
  16. Lets see where we are with the finances after high earners have gone. Onana is on a long term contract so be surprised if we do sell him.
  17. Let's hope he picks up a final win bonus from us today!!
  18. Of all the injuries DCL has had this is the least worrying. He has not played consistently for 18 months, to play 3 or 4 games at maximum effort without pre season games to build fitness was always going to test things like hamstrings, thigh strains etc. The big test will be if he can play after a full pre season (please God ready for the prem league with us), I believe he will. But it would be insanity not to have plans B and C in place just in case. I believe he will be ok for next season.
  19. I feel bad because I really wanted Lampard to succeed because he is a good guy and overlooked his flaws. I feel bad because I underestimated Eddie Howe, I looked down on him and didn't take his success at Bournemouth seriously. I wish Eddie Howe well and hope he and Newcastle do well, they are a model of how to spend new found cash, we are the opposite. We should keep Dyche for a couple of seasons, fix the squad with a couple of strikers to cover / compliment DCL, a couple of new center backs and some creative players / wingers, not to mention left back right back cover. We need a rebuild and Dyche is the man to build the foundations. We play some decent football under him, so give him a chance, he has earnt it.
  20. Indeed, just hope Leicester play like they did last game and Newcastle carry on playing like a top 4 team.
