  1. The biggest change was us stopping playing through the middle mate. It made the only option wide.
First half we created chances from playing simply forward balls through the middle, and it worked.
Second half he made it so our only option was width, and they just sat their full backs on us knowing we had no quality on the middle.

Today was squarely on the managers decisions.

  2. First half we were actually dangerous. Our defending set pieces was just terrible. Better finishing and we could have easily been up at the break. The six minutes after we scored… we battered them.

Second half it was back to last seasons no composure and hit and hope. Terrible second half from them. We played right into their hands and let them just grind out a result.

Why we didn’t come out for the second half as we went in I don’t know.

Its been fairly clear this half what happens when you take Gueye out. You lose a bit of control of the ball and game.

As much as he pisses me off, its something you cant deny.

We lost this on the dressing room at half time mate. Absolute amateur mistake.
It’s the type of decision that fans make.

We absolutely played into their hands second half. They were laughing at how bad we were. Luton Town we’re laughing at how inept we were.

So equivalent might be buying against the TV money deal which is apparently getting a boost again. Right?  If so, then they don't need to have the money to hand and are buying based on that.

I think that would be more of a promised asset for the club rather than the buyer though. Could be wrong though.
    Anyway…. Enjoy your day all.

I never said it had definitely been turned down I said I can’t see them getting league approval, to which you responded it’s already a done deal 🤷‍♂️

You’re smarter than that mate. You know I am talking about my own opinion…. Or did you actually think I know Moshiri or 777. That’s what you get for drinking so heavily whole sunning it up!
Bloody alright for some ain’t it. Just turned up into a rainy Liverpool haha.

Not really. There are business based around debt for example. Palfy knows the construction business, I'd be interested to know if its comparable but construction is only for profit, football is only for losing money

I’m in construction myself…. Not a rich snob like Palfy, but a proper cowboy!

It’s common to ask to see the funds when signing off on large builds for us. Never used to do it until I started on a business coaching course. But they made me start doing it.

But your right, Football is a complete different kettle of frogs.

Well I haven’t seen anything that the deal has been approved by the league, can you show me where you saw it please mate.

I will do mate, just after you show me where they have said it has been turned down. Or just link me to where you saw it please 😉

Or we’ll just call it a draw for now eh haha.

He is in the construction business, he knows that world. Business isn't always conducted the same company to company, let alone industry to industry. He's shown time and time again he has no idea how this footballing world works, why would he suddenly be good when he's selling a rotten product?

Because checking someone’s bank statement is the same in any sector mate.
I would be more than surprised if he didn’t think you needed to check that when making a multi million sale.

Selling a mountain bike for £50 maybe, but not a premier league football club. You got the cash mate? Ye honestly I’ll bring it with me…. Sound, clubs yours.
Hi mate, that cheque you wrote seems to have bounced, could you resend it please mate….. must be your bank account, cheques fine!

Actually now I wrote that…. I think that’s pretty much how Everton work.

  9. Most the clubs they own were in much worse state when they took over. They have stabilised clubs.
Even the article above is saying that the debts are from the previous owners and deals that had been struck that hadn’t come into fruition.

When I read about them, they don’t seem anywhere near as bad as the press want them to be. Not great by any means…. But hardly the company they have been made out to be.

Moshiri, for all his generosity, is fucking clueless when it comes to the football business side. His due diligence, by extension, is meaningless.

We're reliant on the league saving us from this, the same league that held our hand on transfers then put us up for an audit.

There needs to be another investor in the wings.

He is a good businessman though. May not k ow much about football, but he has been an astute businessman.

For him to agree to sell a club without even checking they have the money to buy it would be beyond ridiculous.
It’s the basic rule when making large sales. Unless he is totally useless and has been carried all these years by big U! But then that would also show what a complete Buffon Usmanov is as well.

    Were doomed!

    COYBs!

I don't think it is. The only way they get through this is with fan engagement else their investment ends up bankrupting them. I think there's a lot more to be done before it's a done deal.

    You may be right mate.
I do t know anymore than anyone else, just feel that if it’s for this far it has already been through due diligence.

    But again, it’s Everton.

For me, Gray had a tendency to hold up play too often. He'd stand nonchalantly on the ball waiting for something to happen. In the meantime, it gave the other team chance to get back and get organised.

Danjuma seems to be much more keen to run into the box and try to get a shot off.

This for me. It’s all about end result and he seems to have an end result. Even against Villa which wasn’t his best game, he managed to get into their penalty area several times, and also got a good shot off that was deflected.

Danjuma is going to be another Gana though, we must realise that already.

The FA Cup is different because it’s prestigious still. We really don’t want to choke up our schedule with a run in this meaningless cup, though,  especially with a squad with limited depth.

I know I irritate several by saying this every year, so I shall keep quiet on the matter now. If we win tonight, well done to the team. If we lose, we can focus so that’s good too. Just hope and pray for no injuries to key players.

(On a train about to cross the Brunel bridge from England to Cornwall. Am in the UK for a family reunion with cousins.)

I think you need to explain your thoughts on this more…. Just in case others aren’t sure!

You got loads of time on the train 😉

I don't get it....not doing anything special....I mean he's not Ronaldo or anything but I think in a results-oriented industry, 2 contributions in a game (an assist and delivery from a set piece that led to another goal) is not something I'd call "nothing of note"....the rest of his play may have been nondescript, but he didn't make many mistakes and certainly none that led to goals...I'll take that balance everyday of the week, regardless of where he plays.

    Nothing to get mate.

It’s ok to say someone had a good game without doing anything special other than a good through ball.

Not every assist has to be an amazing piece of football either.
Take the cross. It doesn’t go to Tarks does it, Tarks has to move backwards to be able to get it down.  It was a simple ball into a dangerous area and hope someone gets onto the end of it. Good play without being anything special.

The through ball to Dom was his best bit  the whole game and it produced a goal. Which is why it’s been mentioned above.

You say the rest of his game may have been nondescript, and you would take that balance any day.

So would I, so would I. Don’t try so hard to look for a negative. There wasn’t one in my post. I was just pointing out that I don’t feel he did anything special. Special for me would be Grays goal against Arsenal.
