  1. This is why I don’t get the fans that are against us banging crosses into forwards. That was the golden age of football. Players wore their hearts on the sleeves.
I watched the U21s with Harrison the other night. He just got the ball and ran at them time after time. Got tackled a lot, but knew that he only needed to get past them once to create a chance.

The best wingers used to wear defenders down.

Fans these days will start criticising if a player gets tackled twice in a row though.

    I agree.

However, would you describe  the Bundesligue as entertaining, globally appealing and won by a variety of clubs every year?

I do see what you mean mate, but don’t think we’re that far away ourselves.

The last ten years especially they se to have had a good few teams being successful.
I do enjoy the football though. I’m a fan of fast paced pressure football, crosses being banged in, so gets putting pressure on full backs. I would rather watch us in the 80s than Man City today.

I recognise that City are an amazing team. But hate possession football and find it slow and tedious.

Kills me to say it, but the beat football in recent years was when the shite won it with their non stop pressure and lightning fast break football.

I get it. I've just lost all patience.  Well until kick off Saturday where I'll spark up some hope that today's the day

With you there mate. It’s hard to keep up optimism when we keep get kicked back down.
But Matts right. We are creating now at least. We just need that elusive first win to let the boys know they can win.

  4. Wouldn’t work unless only millionaire fans joined.

Just do the maths. Your average fan could afford what, say £1500 a year?

How many would realistically back it? Maybe 30000?
Thats 45m. I mean that’s enough to pay wages really. And 30000 fans paying that may also be unrealistic as would they then need to cough up for season tickets as well? If so that number comes down dramatically.

This shows just how unrealistic it’s become to run a premier league club. Absolutely disgusting money.

  5. Chicago I hope your right.

I love intense football with loads of crosses. I’m an old fashioned fan and love to see that type of football rather than passing possession bore fests.

This is why I can’t wait for Harrison to be on the pitch. Him one side, McNeil the other side and either Dom or Beto in the middle.
I loved watching Steven crossing the ball in for Sharp and Gray to get on the end of. I would give anything for that football to come back again.

Only created for a few games against really poor opposition this season but we didn’t create loads in many of those 12 games. I agree that the finishing or decisions made by our players should be better but you can still look as to the decisions made in game and with the team and setup that would very likely have made a difference.

Actually we created more chances than the majority of the premier league. Only two teams were above us.

If we set up differently, and Doucs had the exact same chance right in front of goal…. I feel the result would have been the same regardless of tactics. Tactics don’t make a player miss a sitter.

I agree we were way to negative against Arsenal. But as the manager pointed out, it wasn’t a tactic for us to be so cheap with the ball. That’s down to individual players making bad decision’s, or rather poor decisions execution.

I know people were angry the weekend. But I think we all know that if we had played open attacking football against Arsenal, we would have been torn apart. I just refuse to use matches like that to strengthen points as I feel it’s not a good picture of where we are.

Now if we turn up the next two matches and play the same, then I will start asking questions. But for now, I’m not going to use a match against Arsenal as a match at to judge where we are.

Im ok with others doing just that. I’m just discussing it that’s all 🙂

    *Caveat

At home to Wolves (only points they’ve got so far) and Fulham (their 7 pts mainly come from 3 against us and 3 Luton) and Sheffield Utd away. None are good teams at all. Only good side was Villa and we had an xG of 0.72

And Arsenal. They are an ok team.
Shef U lost to two late goals away to spurs this week. Not to shabby really.
And yes Villa can smash anyone on their day.
So if we look at it subjectively, it’s nowhere near as bad as we are making it out to be.

But it’s all open to our own interpretation.

Since Dyche has come in we’ve only scored 7 goals in 12 home games! That’s a goal every 154 mins (and that doesn’t include the added time!) - Pathetic

Is that Dyches fault, or the players missing the chances we are creating?
    Genuine question.

If we’re creating chances, but not scoring them, is that due to the managers tactics, or players being good enough?

  9. We’ve gone to a team that created the third most chances in the top league in the world, to a team that teams have been found out and are toothless and the rest…… after playing Arsenal haha.

And as usual teams always play shit when they play us. Nothing to do with us negating their tactics…. It’s just teams don’t turn up against is for some reason.

This isn’t new though is it?

Haven't we been loaning from these for years. And they are nothing to do with 777. Weren’t these the ones that put up opposition against the last takeover as they didn’t want anyone borrowing money against their actual loan money.

Which is surely the right thing to do. If anything that told me they have the best interests of the clubs money and their own.

I hate this world of borrowing everything, it just gets so messed up.

  11. Don’t think we’ve been that bad. We’re never going to have much of the ball against Arsenal. No team does. But we’ve had 7 efforts on goal against Arsenal. And we have restricted them to a handful of chances.

Some players are coming back from injury. You can see with McNeil he has struggled today.

  12. isn't our current ownership hated so much that any sale should be a good sale?

They have a good few clubs under their belt that were about to collapse and are not a lot more stable. But I don’t know enough about them to make a proper judgement.

A lot of what I read seems inflated to be honest. The whole arrest for drugs for example. It was t as much as Barkley or Bilic used to snort at cream!

And a few late payments? …. Damn I’m going to hell!
