Controversial one but I’m going tarkowski, I thought he was awesome up till his blooper. Even with that mistake he continued to run our defence brilliantly.
very rare I’d give man of the match for a goal costing mistake but I think he was superb aside that.
Don’t think it’s controversial. I was so close to voting Tarks myself, but I thought Myko just edged it.
But Tarks was brilliant. Yes he had a moment, but other than that he was pretty flawless. -
Myko.
Excellent game throughout.
Seems to be gaining in confidence going forward as well. Goals are a massive bonus. -
It’s hard when Eze is running at you full throttle. It changed in the second half as Eze was stopped running and made to turn more. At this point I thought Branthwaite got to grips with him and improved a lot.

Dom.
said in the match thread that if we had 2-3 players of his quality on the pitch we would be strolling that match. He looked a step above all other players. We are such a different prospect with him in the team.

Our problem in recent history is that we have tried to run before learning to walk.
Im 50 how and have found you need to go through steps 1 a 10 to be sustainable. Skipping from step 3 straight to 8 will usually end up in a quick buck, but ultimately fail.Let’s not repeat our usual failures again and again. Learn to walk, then start jogging.

We need players who can maximise their potential.

We’re missing Onana now.
If we had two Calvert Lewins we would destroying teams.
Our best player today. -

Harrison always works incredibly hard but his touch hasn’t been there today
He’s struggling recently.
We need to get the ball and relax a bit. Just not looking after the ball enough this half.

House guests unplugged the wifi last night and not awake yet so sick with text updates for now. Sounds like a cracker so far.
Chances coming. Brighton having a go as well. They don’t know how to handle Dom when he’s running at them.

There’s goals in this game. I’m stressed out already.

Poor finish, but a finish. We're home so let's have more of these.
I thought he did everything right. Got both shots on target with enough power.

Massive loss today Onana. He has been a machine recently. Opportunity for some of the others to step up though.

Before that assist, I was watching him thinking to myself… I think Patto could be right. He was looking very poor.
Even the assist he had run it into a dead end, but the defender made an absolute howler and totally missed the ball.
I do like him, as he works his socks off and is so direct. But he isn’t anywhere near the level of Dom, not even a poor man’s Dom.
I hope I’m proven so wrong.

Haha can I turn it blue?

I think Dyche is trying too eliminate the losses the best way he knows how that’s not going to be to everyone’s satisfaction that’s for sure, but the stats on attempts on and off target weren’t as bad as some people think, we were better than West Ham in that department with only a third of the possession, so the the focus on defence first would seem to pay dividends over 20 attempts at goal and still losing 1-0.
I’m ok with that. Build a solid foundation and then work on the rest.

Branthwaite. Colossal.

I think you’re right Romey. We started so slowly but grew into the game and did what we needed to do.
I do think it was terrible to watch and neutrals must have found it a horrible game. But strangely I also know that we need to play like that away from home and just get points. And other than a few scares late on, I didn’t think they troubled us much at all.
But I do want us to play a bit more attacking football. I want those matches where we are having 20+ attempts again. Just with us putting a few away.
Not unhappy with it at all though. Again it’s progress, and professional.
