Yeah. I understand what you're saying. And you know what Chalkpie, it's good to have opposite views to someone but still be able to chat away in an amicable manner.

And that post Lowensda posted (won't quote it...takes up half a page!) makes quite an impact.

Why wait until the end of the season? Well, for me...because I've said it all along. Plus we still have the FA Cup...which is very important to us considering we've won nothing for 20 years...and, factually, we could still finish in a decent place. I've gone over this already.

And if your reading this and your the type of person who doesn't like it...tough shit. It's a forum where everyone has their own views. If you can't handle people having different views to you...go sit in a little room and chat away to yourself.

Nobody knows for sure how this season will end. There's a big difference between finishing 6th and winning FA cup and finishing 12th with nothing. One keeps you your job for sure, the other almost certainly loses you your job. Anything in between should be reviewed on its own basis.

My honest thoughts just now? Roberto has a fight on his hands to keep his job. The balls in his park as they say.

Where I am with Martinez now is that I'm thinking to myself...if it was me, I'd be going back to that first season in charge, looking at how good it was and asking the players who have been around in both eras (Howard, Jags, Coleman, Baines, Ossie, Pienaar, Gibson, not Barkley or Stones...Too young!)...what have I done that has changed us from that first season? What part of my 'philosophy' has caused an issue? At the end of the day, this is pretty much the same set of players that he had back then.

I'm frustrated with Martinez. Really frustrated. Because I believe he has the ability...but we are seeing and saying the same things over and over.

We've seen this team deliver some exceptional performances this season. Which gives you hope. But then we see the same mistakes time and again. And I've always said that it is important to me that we see some evolution...well we are in terms of attacking play, buy we aren't in terms of defensive play. And we aren't in terms of playing at home. And, as it stands, we aren't in terms of getting the points that our play deserves. There's only so many times in a season you can call a ref's decision, a linesman's decision, an injury, a bit of bad luck...it wears thin.

Martinez needs to evolve himself. The potential is there, no doubt. But he needs to start showing that he, we, are learning from these games. Not just for 1 or 2 games at a time, but consistently.

As for the players, well, I start wondering if they really are the top 4 quality that they keep going on about. And I wonder if they are believing too much in the hype. But that's another story.

I'm not interested in scoring personal points with anyone over Martinez. If he proves not to be good enough, then so be it. He gets sacked. Whatever is best for the club comes well above my personal opinions.

As I've said all along, we'll see at the end of the season. It could still end up being a good season just as much as it could end up being a poor season. I still find that quite bizarre to be honest, quite a unique situation that I can't remember feeling before with Everton!!!

To the end of the season, yes. And then we'll see where we are.

That was the strongest team we could have put out. And the way those players went about their business was a disgrace. They couldn't even pass the ball to each other when it mattered.

    Martinez was annoyed at that.

As I said in the match day thread...this lot, including the manager, need to start ignoring all the hype about how good they are supposed to be and start doing the basics right...on a consistent basis. Not just for one game. Then go off boil. Then do it again. Then go off boil.

Those players today need to apologise to everyone in attendance at GP today. It's not the result (considering our poor record against Arsenal, the result isn't much of a surprise!) but the performance was so poor

Every league game is a cup final now...this lot need to be that up for it.

Yeah...I said "strongest team we could have put out"...as in, out of those available.
Besic has been a machine in most of his games. It's so easy to use say afterwards 'oh, he wasn't fit'. Clearly he wasn't up to it today.

Before the game, I doubt many would have picked a different line up.

EDIT: Even you picked this exact starting 11 in your match day thread!!!

Besic having his worse game I've seen for Everton.

As for the rest of the team...they ain't much better.

Considering we base our play on passing, it's been abysmal today.

Ah, you've retracted a statement you clearly realise was a bit dumb to make!!!

For your question...I think your asking that from your own assumption that we will finish around 10th - 12th. Where as as it stands it's hard to finish 5th but by no means impossible. It's still possible to finish 6th. And realistic. We can very very realistically win the FA Cup...so we could be looking at a season where we finish 6th, semis of league cup and winners of FA Cup. When was the last time we had a season like that?

This is why I keep saying I'll look at it at the end of the season. Far too many ifs and buts right now. It's a crazy season for a fair few teams with plenty of twists and turns to come.

I'm sure everyone is glad he is banging in goals. But, like every player, he has faults. And of course his price tag means that he is always under the microscope.

On the argument of service, as I've said I'm strongly against this lack of service malarkey, I see it in a very simple way...Rom is furthest up the pitch, 9.9/10, for him to get the ball and shoot...he has to have had service of some sort from his team mates. For him to be 2nd for shots in the league...most of which are inside the area...he has to be getting an acceptable amount of service. It cannot be doubted.

The ironic thing is that we argue about his Pro's and con's against each other...yet no one is actually wrong in what they say! Most of it is pretty much bang on. It's only some male stubborn nitpicking that causes the 2 sides to become 'blurred'.

And the fact that he is continously talked about speaks volumes.

I'm not arsed who we got. As said up there ^^^, I feel it's in our hands.

I think it will be W'Ham. They are in form while United seemed to have gone back to shambolic.

I'm not getting excited or ahead of myself but I really do think that if we get our heads on, we can win this cup. It's just not knowing which Everton will show up that's holding me back!!!

Yeah, this is the frustration. Why are we so indifferent? It's as if the team gets too comfortable, too confident, maybe too cocky.

As for the Stones sub. Well, we were 2 up, just lost Barry...time to lock up the game. Isn't that what we want him to do?!!

Yeah for sure there can be questions asked about certain parts of his game. Certain parts which frustrate.

But at the end of the day, he's proving to be someone who, even when not at his best, is still a goal threat.

The thing that has done me in a bit recently is his understanding with Barkley. Both of them need to work at that...it can still be quite wasteful.

Yeah, and if Barkley could 'decide' a bit quicker. And Lukaku make better runs, like yesterday.

You see enough signs that they can tear it right up...its just not quite 'automatic' yet.

Think the clean sheet was more about the players in front of him today. They had 1 shot on target.

Looked a bit flappy today. And has done a few times.

I want to see him in a game where he has to save shot after shot, claim every cross cleanly etc. Then you'll know if he's 'the one'.

I'm not sure he is but he will do for now.

You miss the point Haf. She didn't even take the lead in going onto the pitch...a bloke did...yet she got the full wrath for it. And the aftermath.

The reason she was targeted by Mourinho is the same reason that you haven't heard a rumour about Ivanovic and Hazard shagging a 50 year old male grey haired male doctor with a beer belly.

The way he treated her, it can't be defended. And shouldn't be.
