Newty82 got a reaction from chicagoblue in Now Martinez has gone, who should get the nod...
Not that it will matter but the Mourinho calls are a bit odd.

It shows that fans are willing to sacrifice club image in exchange for a better chance, not a guaranteed chance, of winning a trophy and/or getting into the top 4. Which is a shame.

I used to really like Mourinho...years ago. But as the years have gone on its become to much about him. The Jose show.

I've said all along that I fully believe Chelsea's players turned on Mourinho after the way he treated Eva Carneiro, which was just diabolical behaviour and typical of what he has become.

And that's wanted at Everton? No thank you. We don't do egos at Everton. If Martinez proves to be the wrong man, then I am sure there are plenty of managers out there who are up for the challenge and we won't need to sell our soul for.

You miss the point Haf. She didn't even take the lead in going onto the pitch...a bloke did...yet she got the full wrath for it. And the aftermath.

The reason she was targeted by Mourinho is the same reason that you haven't heard a rumour about Ivanovic and Hazard shagging a 50 year old male grey haired male doctor with a beer belly.

The way he treated her, it can't be defended. And shouldn't be.

Like all successful businessman, the bloke will have a ruthless streak.

He'll maybe take a year to get to know the ins and outs of the club, get himself comfortable.

After that, I'm sure if people like Elstone, Martinez etc aren't upto the task...he'll get rid.

This could be the best thing that has happened to this club for many years.

In terms of 'The Big Dream'...

Get us back our training ground and make it better.

Get us a new stadium to secure our future

    Protect our assets

Grow our commercial revenue...the TV bubble will burst.

Keep this squad together...add to it as necessary, not just for the sake of it.

Really dig in and invest in local talent.

Not voting...will wait to the end of the season.

I'm a backer of Martinez...but I'm struggling with seeing/saying the same things over and over.

If we aren't in or around that top 6 at the end of the season, I'm going to really struggle with how much time he should get.

Argh man, even typing I'm finding it tough. I see so much good that he offers. But we have been repeating the same thing over and over for too long now.

It's a tough one. For me anyway.

Absolute shame about the Villa. Another example of some foreign investor coming in without a clue about football and ruining one of England's most prestige clubs.

    Absolutely feel for you guys.

And you're right, I don't think we got out of 1st gear. We were poor...which makes it even more shambolic for you lot unfortunately.

    What a weird feeling!

Obviously pleased with the result and 3 points but what a shite performance!

We started the 2nd half well enough but we just lost the little plot that we had as it went on. And the subs totally threw it.

Feel happy and frustrated all in one!!

Can play shit but still scores.

    Proper striker.

Yeah, I'd like to see Niasse too. Just to see what he's about.

Rom not being very effective. I'm pretty sure he needs a spell out. But like a true striker, he can score at any moment!!

I'd prefer us not to suddenly start spending big money on 'Billy Big Bollocks'. I think it is totally unnecessary and that particular market is full of mercenary players, agents, clubs...just pure greedy bastards.

We'll stay quiet about our targets and our budget. Because that's the Everton way (just like with the new Moshiri coming in, no one had a clue...and I love that about this club!).

We'll hand pick our targets for the sake of building a better team, not for the sake of just buying a 'name'.

I'd like us to steadily build success rather than buy success over night. That way it leaves a nicer taste.

And yes, I think it increases the pressure on Martinez. Which is a good thing. A bit of pressure does no one any harm and if harnessed in the right way, you'll perform 10 times better.

    Immense starting line up that.

This Villa team have no belief. The manager is pissed off. The players have no fight.

If we can get a couple of quick goals, they'll give up.

Shame for Villa really, good old club but it's a dog eat dog world.

Newty82 got a reaction from StevO in Blue Bill's shiny new stadium at the docks...
For me, the new stadium should be around 50 - 55,000 max capacity but built in a way that it can be expanded relatively easily. I personally don't believe that we will suddenly double our attendance figures.

Access to the stadium is important. Plenty of parking (underground car park? Multi storey?). Good access roads. And if possible, rail access close by. Bus depot, taxi rank. The lot.

The immediate area around the stadium should be an experience itself. A nice open space, with water features, big screens, up lighting, entertainment, food kiosks, trees/greenery, statues...all sorts of stuff going on.

It should be a multi purpose stadium for concerts, boxing, arts etc.

It should be open enough to be enjoyable on various occasions but closed enough to create a belting intimidating intimate footballing experience that echoes the Grand Old Lady.

And more importantly, it should totally overshadow that shambolic steep sloping pile of pig bollocks currently being built over the other side of Stanley Park.
