Fucking quality today. I don’t think there was a blade of grass he didn’t cover. That’s why Silva loves him and that’s why I love him, his importance to how we want to play is massive.

No. Rule has changed. And no, maximum seven English teams in Euro comps (unless you're Liverpool in which case UEFA will change the rules for you).

This is why calling for his head was silly. You have to give managers a chance to get their ideas across and get the players in that are suitable for their tactics, it’s not a quick fix and there were always going to be teething problems.
He still might not be the man to take us forward but he had to be given the chance to be that man.

It must be awful to be unable to alter your opinion of something because arrogance and need to be right is all too powerful.
I think most of us didn't rate Steven Naismith to start with....  but his determination and application made him a top asset to our club and well loved.
I genuinely see a desire from Silva to be a success.... I don't think it was evident a good few weeks back but it is now.

I don't think much has changed. Most of us would have said we were quietly optimistic about progress under Silva before Pickford's brain fart v the shite, then we reverted back to the sort of form and football that got Koeman sacked - hapless. But it's largely the same personnel in the same system.
The difference? Probably a combination of a new manager getting his ideas across more effectively the longer he works with a group, new players finding their feet, more players finding some form and confidence. It's too early to get carried away, though, this is still the side that capitulated woefully against Newcastle two matches ago, the lack of leadership at CB, real creativity in midfield and the need for a proven goalscorer to lighten the load of expectation on the 21 year old who has become our first choice CF all still apply.
I think what we are seeing is that calls for Silva's head were very, very premature.

Managers can get better, just as players can. It’s early days, very early days, but there’s nothing wrong with us having a bit of optimism and backing him.
Its a foolish person that thinks people can’t learn and change. Let’s see what he can do with what’s left of the season.

What I've loved about the last two games (Chelsea and West Ham) is that after the devastating collapse at Newcastle, it would have been so easy for the team to just give up on the season and cruise the last 8 games. And in my opinion, a team that wasn't playing for the manager would have given up. But they've bounced back in style. There's an aggression to their play. They want to win. That's down to Silva in my opinion. They're playing for him and for the pride of the shirt, and that's brilliant to see. I'm really optimistic about the direction of the team. The reaction to the Newcastle result could not have been better, and I think that's down to Marco.

Really enjoyed that today. Brilliant result and the team performance was top notch. Goodison looks so much better these days too. They've done a great job of refreshing the Grand Old Lady (last lot of games I've been to have been winter and/or night time, so I've not done a lap for a while!).
Hard to criticise anyone really. The lads really seem to be clicking at the moment and taking it up a level. When was the last time we had to moan about conceding at set pieces? Small things are being put to bed bit by bit, and that early season form and, more importantly, style of play is returning. Hopefully this will show why we can't sack a manager as soon as we hit a poor run. Hopefully I said!!!
Players that stood out most for me were DCL. That boy is a nightmare for the opposition. He's being lightly criticised out there for not scoring enough, yet he has a better goals to minutes ratio than anyone else! What he does is hold the ball up, brilliantly, and creates enough of a head ache that the likes of Gylfi, Richarlison and Bernard get the chance to score, or should do! Really want him to get at least 2 more to get him to a minimum of 10, I always think getting to double figures is a good start.
Bernard was great again. He tracks back brilliantly and pops up all over. Just needs a bit more finesse in and around the penalty box.
Gana and Gomes. Don't even need to say anything.
    Excellent 3 points.

I hope there’s no nonsense in here about how that win was down to Arsenal and not because we played well.
We were the better team by far. We created so many chances that 4-0 wouldn’t have flattered us. We swarmed them and didn’t give them a second to breathe and then used the ball intelligently. We just need to be more clinical.
It was telling that despite us being the team that were running all over the pitch it was Arsenal that were shattered at the end and we were still looking like Duracell bunnies.
Yeah, I’m excited about what could happen. Come on you fucking blues.

Harsh that I don’t think DCL had a clear cut chance. Maybe the 23 attempts we had were due to DCL playing?

Whatever happens I've seen enough to be happy.... Silva has done a great job to turn it around. Well done Marco.

Haha. My wife is a Jock. One of them Glaswegian types. Still can't understand her and we've been at it for 14 years.
I'll get there with you one day Mike. You and a good few others on here I hope.

I'll be there too chaps. Managed to get some tickets in the Park End for me and my stepson while getting pissed at my Grandads funeral on Friday. Was 'lucky' enough to be a pall bearer and we carried his coffin in to Z-Cars, so have a feeling I might get wet eyes as Z-Cars blasts out at Goodison!!!
Weather forecast is decent, really looking forward to it. Might see some of you there!

I’m going to this one with the handbag and she’s a gooner, where going up on Friday morning do some shopping see some sites and enjoy some good restaurants, first time in Liverpool for her.
I’ve gone for a draw that should keep the 4 hour drive home harmonious, if we lose she’s getting the train back 😀
