IMO they were lucky in the league match....................they have been lucky in a few games since then...................luck runs out and we will see them off, 3 - 1

We're on the same page, Jim. Last night I played indoor soccer in my Everton shorts, and there was a guy on the other team wearing Villa kit. We beat them 3-1 - and that's what we'll do on Sunday.

So what team are we fielding here exactly?

We have: Howard, Nash, Hibbert, Jacobsen, Jagielka, Lescott, Yobo, Baines, Neville, Castillo, Andy Van Der Meyde, Osman, Arteta, Cahill, Gosling, Rodwell, Neville, Baxter, Saha.......

And I think that's it really

In light of that I'd go 5-4-1

--------------Howard--------------

-----Yobo-------Jags-------Lescott

Hibbert----------------------Baines

----------------Neville--------------

Gosling--------Arteta--------Osman

----------------Cahill----------------

Bench: Nash, Jacobsen, Castillo, Van Der Meyde, Rodwell, Baxter, Saha

It may just be me but under the circumstances that makes the most sense. Hibbert can overlap if he just works on his crosses, and Yobo will be there to cover him if he pushes further up, Baines is dangerous at crossing and linked well with an underacheiving Osman to create chances, and Arteta central behind cahill hopefully creating some through balls. Gosling and Osman can give them hassle around the box, and as long as we don't hoof it all game we might have a chance. Plus 5 defenders aginst Heskey, Agbonlahor and Young will keep them shut out, and without Barry and Laursen they are weak in defending and breaking up attacks.

2-0 to us, Cahill from a corner and I'm going for Neville because he's scored against em before

Is Fellaini injured ?

I really don't think he'll mess with a defensive system that's worked so well this year.

Starting both Rodwell and Baxter may be a bit of a gamble, he may go for Castillo....not that he's done a great deal so far but I don't see any other options. If VDM was fit he'd be another option but he looks overweight to me.

Be interesting to see what Davey does.

Great that both Laursen and Barry are out though, almost like taking Gerrard and Carragher out of Liverpool...but not quite because Villa will still be useful without them.

Yes.

Saha might come back to the bench, but i would go with Rodwell and allow Osman to back up cahill, yobo should have to wait his turn. cant move any of the back 4.

............................. Howard...........................

hibbert ..... jagielka ............. lescott .......baines

arteta .... neville ... osman .... rodwell ... pienaar

............................. cahill ..............................

If Saha plays omit Rodwell, move arteta inside and osman outside.

Moyes just said that Saha pulled out of training again, I don't see him getting more than maybe 15 minutes. I've also just heard over here on Fox Soccer that Fellaini has some sort of fracture in his back... wtf?

Anyway, this is going to be a tough one, our internationals were all over the place. I guess Howard was a bit late getting back, but he should be OK to go, I actually saw him after the game in Columbus. I was smashed, but he was a top lad.

-------------------Howard------------------

--Hibbo---Lescott----Jagielka----Baines---

--------Neville-------------Rodwell-----------

----Osman-------Arteta---------Anichebe/Baxter/VDM???

-------------------Cahill----------------------

Not going to be easy, let's hope Cahill isn't knackered from that trip.

2-0 us, Osman & Arteta

Just thinking about our lack of options!

IF Anichebe is fully fit, can there be a better time to say to him, (Moyes)"here you go Victor, I'm a big enough man to pick you after our little bust up, let's see what you can do"!

Could bring a big performance out of him, in a very important game.

Beat Villa, and Man Utd slip up, there's no reason why we can't win this trophy!

If our defence can keep their forwards quiet (and there's no reason why they can't), then with Barry and Laursen out we WILL have the edge.

Quote from O'Neill. It's nice to see someone so respected say something like this about us. Fair play

"I've been impressed with Everton, they are strong minded and there is a great durability about them and they've been going well for some time.

"They played a couple of months with midfielders as makeshift strikers.

"They have found ways to win when they haven't had the players fit and I have utmost respect for their club."

Vic starts....didn't see that coming..Ossie out. Rodwell and Gosling in.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Lescott, Jagielka, Baines, Neville, Arteta, Cahill, Gosling, Rodwell, Anichebe.

Subs: Nash, Yobo, vdMeyde, Castillo, Jacobsen, Baxter, Wallace.

Difficult to see goals in that side. Heskey is out for Villa but Carew in.

Beginning to think a draw would be a useful result :) .
