Sir Bobby Robson

Recommended Posts

A gent who set the blueprint of how managers should conduct themselves. Never seen to get involved in mind games or bickering. When looking at his clubs and achievements remains one of the best english managers. Showed courage and dignity to the end. RIP Sir Bobby.

Very few football people trascend club allegiances and have pretty much universal respect and admiration but he did.

Very sad.

(Only got cross with him once, when he failed to pick the full Everton contingent from the start in the '86 World Cup finals, sticking with Robson and Wilkins instead. Injury and suspension forced his hand in the end though and proved me and every other Evertonian right!)

Seemed a very nice person with a great football knowledge.Read in his book he agreed verbaly to becoming Everton manager way back, just didn't happen.Went on to say it was one of his biggest regrets in football.

Fought this last battle with bravery and humour.

RIP.
