Yobo is in the squad....Senderos a doubt...no sign of Jags.

Everton (from): Howard, Nash, Baines, Distin, Coleman, Yobo, Senderos, Neville, Osman, Arteta, Rodwell, Bilyaletdinov, Pienaar, Donovan, Gosling, Cahill, Saha, Yakubu, Vaughan, Duffy, Baxter, Forshaw.

Distin/Yobo partnership  ??

You know things are bad when we're considering Yobo to be our reliable defender

Acording to the official site the scoring records of both saha and yak in europe is pretty much equal with saha endging it by 1/2 a percent. Yak has a 32.5% goal ration and saha has 33.3% Looking forward to seeing the line up it's going to be break neck jouney home (all be it on a train) to watch the game at 5:45

Everton: Hward, Neville, Distin, Yobo, Baines, Arteta, Cahill, Osman, Donovan, Saha. Subs: Nash, Bilyaletdinov, Vaughan, Gosling, Yakubu, Rodwell, Coleman.

They forgot Pienaar, don't worry, we're not playing with 10 players

Joseph Yobo returns to David Moyes' starting XI to face Sporting Lisbon.

The Nigerian centre-half has been absent from the Everton squad since December with a hamstring injury, but is back in the side following his return from the African Cup of Nations.

He is joined by Sylvain Distin, Leighton Baines and Phil Neville at the back, while Steven Pienaar returns from his one-match suspension served against Chelsea and replaces Diniyar Bilyaletdinov in midfield.

The rest of Moyes' team remains unchanged from the victory over Carlo Ancelotti's side in the Premier League - Mikel Arteta gets his first taste of European action of the 2009/10 season and starts alongside Tim Cahill and Leon Osman in midfield.

Loanee Landon Donovan also starts against the Portuguese side, but Philippe Senderos is absent from the squad with a back problem.

Louis Saha leads the line for the Blues upfront.

"Confidence plays a big part in football and we go into this one with a lot of confidence, but we must be careful too. As for Marouane Fellaini, he has a very serious injury and needs an operation. It's the same as Robin van Persie's, so he will be out for six months."

F*ck

I dont understand why DM didnt keep it to himself until after the game. Hearing that before you go out onto the pitch has to be a serious blow to confidence. Im off to the airport in a minute to catch a plane to Brazil, so all you lucky buggers who get to watch the game, enjoy!

Glad we're ahead at half time, they have looked a bit dangerous at times though, so it might be worth trying to get another one of we can to take over there with us. Saying that, a clean sheet has still got to be a priority.

The red card, hmm I'm not sure about that, at first it looked like a foul, and he was the last man, but the replay's not conclusive. Don't see why Saha would have gone down though as he was clean through. Let's just hope that's not gonna be the talking point in about an hours time. ;)

there was definate contact, but it was maybe more a coming together. red card possibly would hae been harsh. however it was a goalscoring opportunity
