Zoo Posted December 21, 2011 Report Share Posted December 21, 2011 Diouf struggled to find the back of the net while at Ewood Park and in the summer returned to Manchester United where he has been unable to force his way into the first team squad. Exactly why we shoulden't be going for him. We need someone that can find the back of the net and do it for us week in and week out. Players like Saha have shown over the past couple of months (or even years) that they are not going to be banging in 20 or so goals a season so we need someone who can in order to move up the table. With the money that Moyes has said we have got in our transfer fund I would be rather pissed to say the least if we spend it on Diouf who lets be honest hasnt exactly 'torn up the Premiership' since his arrival. I know there is an argument that with Blackburn Rovers he coulden't do much because they were shite but surely he could have made some runs into the box and maybe nabbed one or two? Whether you play in Manchester United or Accrington Stanley if you're a good player then you will find a way to grab goals. It's a big no from me - we need to sign someone who has already had a taste of scoring goals (eg - Defoe).
