Bill Posted September 10, 2016 Report Posted September 10, 2016 After a self imposed 40 year absence from Liverpool, the missus and I decided to return home. Got ourselves a nice little property in Wirral, I've already been to Goodison to see the facelift it was supposed to get, but they haven't got very far yet. I was a bit disappointed. pete0 1 Quote
MikeO Posted September 10, 2016 Report Posted September 10, 2016 Nice one Bill, hope you're very happy there (have you got a shed?). Coincidentally my daughter moved house today . Quote
Bill Posted September 10, 2016 Author Report Posted September 10, 2016 Thanks Mike. Only one shed, the coffers wouldn't stretch to two.. PS.... that original shed thread from years ago was a good one, not many members on here now would know what we are talking about. Quote
johnh Posted September 10, 2016 Report Posted September 10, 2016 Bill, the Wirral is not really 'home', its overseas. I have two relatives live on the Wirral, one in Neston and one in West Kirby. I lived in Wallasey for a short time but that was in 1938/39, so don't remember much. Hope you get settled in OK. Quote
Bill Posted September 10, 2016 Author Report Posted September 10, 2016 John, I did say (or nearly). I'm about a 190 miles nearer than I was. Thanks John and MJB. Quote
Matt Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 All the best with the move, Bill. We've toyed with the idea but work in the area just isn't there. Plus, not sure I could leave this place! Quote

Hafnia Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) Greasby. 2 miles inland from West Kirby.Nice part of the wirral to be fair. Bit of a chore public transport wise for the match. Was in that neck of the woods yesterday. Love hickorys - Try the viking pub. Edited September 11, 2016 by Hafnia Quote
Bill Posted September 11, 2016 Author Report Posted September 11, 2016 Have tried the Red Cat and the Greave Dunning but got a few more around here to try. A few neighbours have mentioned the Viking and also the Irby Mill. There seems to be plenty within easy reach. Quote
Matt Posted September 11, 2016 Report Posted September 11, 2016 Irby Mill is probably the best within your area, though the Golden Fry chippy (I think) is very good Quote
