Rumours without a Link

Recommended Posts

The draws have not been kind to us on the last three occasions for sure, even the Kharkiv game was a tough one.

Hopefully we'll fare better this time :) .

Same. But it's gonna be though, I think. The teams that go out of the 3rd CL qualifying go into the last Europa League qualifying round, and the teams that go out on the CL 4th round get into the Europa League groups stage, so there's gonna be quite an interesting mix of teams in there.

I'd like Sporting going to the CL groups, but since in the 4th qualifier we can be pitted against the likes of Milan, Real, Chelsea and everyone else not getting direct access to groups, I'm not too thrilled about our chances...

its july 1st, always has been, defo not june 1st. players go on holiday / summer international tornements. Transfer window isnt open.

Wiki:FIFA regulates in general that there shall be two windows, a longer one (max. twelve weeks) in the break between two seasons and shorter one (max. four weeks) in the middle of a season. The specific periods depend on the league's season cycle and are determined by the national football authorities.[4]

When a league commences in the second half of the year (eg. August or September) and stretches over two calendar years (autumn-spring season), the first window is usually open from 1 July until midnight of 31 August and the second one from 1 January until midnight on 31 January the same year. Most major European leagues have adopted this scheme.

well theres no reason to start argueing about this, but when you can negotiate with players for transfers and make deals, aint the window open? And window did open yesterday, when all major leagues in europe has ended. Dunno is there mistake in wiki but how can city buy Barry when window is closed? And Real bought Kaka?

You can agree a deal at any time but the transfer wont go through till the window opens, barry is a city player 1st july, im 100% sure im correct by this. Never has been a June 1st window for England since the transfer windows came around.

I was just trawllig through this thread to see who was talked about in older tansfer windows, got to give it to Bill though. Damn good call! Even if the positions mentioned where a little off!

Phil Jagielka... Voted Sheff Utds player of the year for the third year on the trot, Left back and left Mid.

Glad Moyes didn't listen to Mac though!

Got to disagree here Bill, his is a jack of all trades, master of none, big swerve from up here.

ATB

Mac

Bill did however tarnish his soothsayer abilities by suggesting that he would be ok if we got rid of Neville if...

Only if we get Barton first. ;)

Its quite funny looking through some of these actually.

Well this is an interesting one...

Yesterday i was in the bank, and i know a few of the lads in there, we got talking about everton, and i was told, someone who knows someone working at man utd, came into the bank yesterday and said scholes was offered a 1 year contract, and was unsure as whether to take it up, as his days seem to be numbered there. Now don't shoot the messenger but supposedly everton are looking into a 2 year deal for him?

What do you think of that?

And also, would you like scholes at are club, for his experience now, more than anything?
