Think its more so just about fitness. hes played a handful of games in 2 full years and his first appearance this season was 120mins, asking him to come back 3 days later is very very difficult.

It used to, pressure on the calendar due to Euro games put an end to it. FA and league cup used to get limitless replays in the past so teams would play 3/4/5 even six full games to get a winner. No shoot-outs at any stage.

You could tell the whole situation has Martinez riled and rightly so I just hope the board don't go against his media stance on it and put him in the firing line as he genuinely looks drained by it all

Love the way Roberto handled the post-match interview. Said "money can't buy everything," reiterated that Stones is a big part of the plans for the club going forward, and, when asked if he's for sale, said "no, not at all."
 
Edit: Seems many of us are happy with it!

Roberto just emphasising in his post match interview that Stones is not at all for sale and that in football money cannot buy you everything and you have to have a set of values.

amazing. He gets support from Geri and Barkley instead of AG (mostly) and he's going again. Yes, he should've done better for most of the game, but like I said before; the gap between him (Naismith too, when he was upfront on his own for 5 mins) was enormous 
Barkley has changed this game almost single handedly. Geri had a scrappy start but has been great aince

Jags hasn't (allegedly) handed in a transfer request less than a week before TDD and left us with no time to find replacements. Plus stones could have cleared that ball before Jags had to try and make that tackle. As for the 2nd, Robles came off his line tentatively like a little kitten.

Just seen a replay of the first goal. Stones seems to deliberately jump over the ball after the Barnsley guy shot. Conspiracy theorists will be having a field day. But Stones could definitely have cleared it. He definitely made a conscious decision to leave the ball. Why?
