Goodison Glory got a reaction from Gwlad in Rafael Benitez
Not thrilled about the appointmen but I honestly think he will do well....though we have a low bar to clear thanks to last year. I don't think it is going to be anywhere near the shit show that was Allardyce (playing style or personality style)
Frankly most of us have had blue tinted glasses on at one time or another in the past 5 years relative to our managerial appointments. We were convinced one or more of those appointments were exactly what we needed at that time (and who can blame us). So for me a muted response this time is a refreshing change. Let's have the results do the talking (one way or the other)
I don't read too much into the interview. The club will have thought about "landmine questions" and said we have to be seen to ask you about these 5-6 things and answers will have been thought about in advance.
Like I've said in a prior post I am interested in our squad activity this year. It's not about splashing the cash as that hasn't worked in the past but I could see Moshri feeling the need to go big and make some investments - not a one player splash but really backing (his) manager (and screw FPP - slap on the wrist for first time offender)

When he was on the pitch he did his job. The only issue was him not staying fit. No issue with performance or effort from me. He was by far our most consistent creative force. I for one will be gutted to see him go if he does. We don’t have enough creative players as it is, finding more won’t be easy.

Hey everyone. First time poster (long time reader). I have to say I love checking in on the different opinions and debates (Lukaku was Cant put down material) but I thought the it was time to contribute.

I'm English but been living in Philippines for the past 8 years. Bear with me while to get to grips with how the site works etc.
like many I'm not enamoured with this whole Benitez situation but I'm also concerned about Moshri: we def need to build the squad in a different way to avoid these overpriced / bloated wage mercenaries....I just don't think he has the patience. Largely because we've already lost 5 years of the project. He doesn't seem like he wants to wait another 3 years and build from the bottom.

the transfers this year will tell us more about the club than the managerial appointment (in my opinion any way).

Was watching some of his highlights from last season...:the amount of time he shifted it to his left foot and sprayed the ball out to the left wing is unbelievable. Was incredibly accurate.
In one clip there were 2 Everton players on the left (he was right wing half way line) the easy ball was to the player (Digne I think) just past the half way line but he played the more difficult ball to a more advanced player...that's the difference between slow build up and an incisive one.

This is spot on for me.
I’m more concerned about getting players like Gylfi and Bernard out the door and replacing them with young, hungry players (with pace, strength and stamina); if I see this and sense a real project led by Brands then I’ll be feeling really positive and optimistic. If the first thing he does is bring in players like Coady and Ayoze Perez - average , over-priced players who will leave on a free in 4 years as they seek one last pay day, then I’d be livid. I’m not actually bothered who the manager is anymore as long as we get the squad sorted as whoever it is will only be here long-term if they do well; fail to do so and we’ll be having these conversations again in 12-18months.
