Kenny is a different player though. Nknounkou is an absolute physical beast and he uses those tools - Kenny needs to be more like Baines/Digne, use the ball well and pass his way around his opposing fullback on the over lap. Kenny is more reliable than sidibe and slightly under rated attacking wise. On another note - Theo Walcott is starting to really wind me up. he's lost that yard of pace and just seems to halt our attacks, poor end product as which has always been his issue but is definitely more prominent now. I'd seriously rather Bolasie get a run in the next cup game over him. Both probably are not electric like they use to be but Bolasie genuinely wants to fight for the shirt - i really respect him for that. Apparently Iwobi had been injured so i guess we will see if he makes the bench against WBA.

Agree with all the above. He’s got Digne as well to learn off with Baines around the club still. Can’t ask for much more really. Marcel Brands And the scouting team have done excellently here.

1-0 is not comfortable by any stretch to a lower tier team. Especially when our goal has come from a corner. Young Lb is looking very very good, great bit of business from brands. Gordon is following Richarlisons steps as the LF who can cut in, looking very dangerous. Bernard and Davies are trying to get on the ball and make things happen. Seems like Sigurdsson only wants the ball when it’s a corner/free kick. Kean - struggling. Keane - changing my opinion on him. Assured and looking like a leader.

No CB would want to play against him. Physically so strong yet rapid in behind as well. Needs to get a bit better with the ball at his feet but his improvement has been great! 20 goals is possible for him. Richarlison should have a few this year as well, good signs.

Allan/ Doucoure are different kind of athletes though. I'd love to say we can play a second string team and get a win here but seeing how we have been over the last few years im not totally confident. Nothing would be more Everton of the past to make such a statement in the window, first game of the season to then get knocked out of the cup by salford. We were embarrassed by liverpools U23's last year because we played our first team, now people are asking for nearly that seem team to play here and think it would be a walk over.

Yeah think so, which is why Id keep Allan in the team. If Gbamin was fit I’d feel more comfortable resting Allan.

Id feel so much better having Gbamin in for Allan. I think Allan and Doucoure are okay to play a few games in a row, very good athletes. We can look after James here and bring Richarlison on if there is a scare. Im okay to change the full backs but Pickford, Mina and Keane really should start. Bernard in behind Moise Kean because Bernard looked excellent in pre season centrally. Walcott can play wide left to get in on his right foot and Gordon/Iwobi on the right. Siggy for Gomes. If thats not enough for Salford than those players that come in really need moving on im afraid.

Thats the right attitude to have to be honest though. We still need another CB though as we are way to thin for a whole season.

For me, i just want us to be competitive and i feel for the first time in a long, long time we will be. Spurs i got up at 1:30am to watch live and enjoyed it. Put the game on again last night and re watched it - i cant remember the last time i have done that. We have signed 3 very, very good players but the likes of Richarlison & DCL could explode this year and have huge seasons. 15 shots against spurs, away - lets just let that sink in. Id love to challenge the top 4, win a cup, finally beat Liverpool and i genuinely believe we can do it.

The saves are what we all expect from him, no ones every questioned his shot stopping but his command of area was top top quality. Especially when he went right through Mina to get on, absolutely love that.

Homesick or seen he has a real fight on his hands getting into the 11 and doesn’t fancy it? Seen loads of videos of him involved with the likes of DCL & Bolasie pre season having a good time so it raise suspicions. Would rather see Gordon develop this season anyways.

He was up for it, this whole thing about him not defending - I didn’t see any evidence of that. It’s easy to jump in the bandwagon because of reputation but he was sliding around and cutting passing lanes. He won’t be like richarlison, all energy getting back and getting a foot in but he is smart. Best part for me was when he was on the end of a kick and went down and there was about 4 Everton players there instantly. Teams won’t bully us. I also wouldn’t lay a finger on James if Mina is on the pitch, asking for trouble that!
