And without trying to be a dick I hope your wrong, not for any personal gratification but because we need to to get some stability back. I’m also quite aware that he might get the push in 3 or 4 weeks and we will move on to another episode of our turbulent few years and that prospect scares me more than the one we are in now. I don’t want to fall out with anyone who thinks Benitez should be sacked immediately because I know that comes from a love for the club and a genuine concern for our future, as those who feel he should be given more time are also doing so for the right reasons.

Also, @dunlopp9987, if we only win twice again in the next 3/4 months do we stick with him then too because we've gone through a few managers?

Yep. Moshiri jumped and sacked him when he should have backed him with 1 window to see what could happen. This for me is the exact moment our players got the mentality they can down tools and the manager will take the brunt

Honestly, I don't believe our players are that bad. There are certainly teams above us right now with players of lower calibre.
In any field, a manager forges a strategy that maximizes the strength of every team member. You can't define strategy in a vacuum. You can't assume a solid strategy at one company will work at another. The manager must take into account each player's strengths and leverage them, which takes adjustment and willingness to compromise.
Clearly, Digne's strength is ability to rush forward and cross with sometimes deadly accuracy, So, his manager should recognize this and take advantage of it. As I've mentioned before, it's never a good idea to try to force a square peg into a round hole. Not only is it a waste of talent but it's also highly demotivating.
Yes, Digne has not performed well for some time, and we don't know what lies behind that. Yes, it's important for a manager to have a clear strategy. However, strategy cannot be defined in a vacuum: It must always be in the context of available talent.

ive been underwhelmed by digne for a while.  This fall out suggests that there has been a toxic element at the club... probably why we have seen so many managers fail.
I actually think Rafas fallouts are required.

But they were telling us what a great coach he is and how he improves players, yet we need to wait until he buys 11 new ones. Why isn’t he coaching and improving these players to be better?

Gordon is a young player improving all of the time, he had decent spells last season too, hopefully he continues on this upward trajectory. But it started long before this manager turned up.
Very happy with Grey, stroke of luck or genius? Not bothered as long as he keeps doing the business.

Hanging everything on DCL seems to be Rafa’s plan anyway, so let’s hope the lad has an amazing second half to the season. As for the most part he’s the only one missing for all of this shite run we’ve been on.

The one plus from todays abstract failure is that Gordon is looking more and more confident at this level with each game and looks to be finally finding his feet. Excellent today gong both ways

Throw in there we need to play Newcastle and Burnley in the rearranged fixtures too. If Newcastle were to take six points from us it could be terrible. Villa and Leeds being around us gives them a bit of added motivation. It could a horrible run.

Not one for the chop and changing of managers, we do need stability.
Question is though, how many more games can we afford to give him to turn it around? Moshiri’s pride/ego with making the appointment is at stake but we can’t afford this run to continue!
1 in 12 is abysmal and vs Brighton we were negative from the announcing of the team sheet, warning signs were there from the sideways backpass early on that almost led to a chance.

Yes we were shit at home under Carlo last season. But last season right across Europe there was a massive increase in away wins while there was no crowd in. It’s more than just us being shit.

On Rafa, safest job in the premier league now. Moshiri has gone all in on him, we could be 18th in the league and he would still be safe.
There is enough quality in our squad to beat the teams that have had a great time over the last few months. I keep hearing we’ve got a shit squad, but so many of our players are good enough to do better than one win in 12 or whatever it is. Because they all manager to do better under previous managers. That’s the worrying bit for me.
I said when Rafa joined that this would inevitably end in tears, it’s been tears for months. It just won’t end though.

I was going to wait until I'd cooled down to post in this thread but fuck it, I need to say this shit and I need to say it now.
I want this fucker gone and I want him gone now. He is going to take us down. I cannot believe there are still some of our fans that don't see how much trouble we're in.
Where is this tactically astute manager he supposedly is? Three at the back is not something we have the players for, so why the fuck go with it? You could have predicted disaster with that before a ball was fucking kicked. Then you play a sub-par right back as a fucking left wing back while you have an international quality left back sat on the fucking bench. I don't give a shiny shit if they've had a falling out, you fucking play him because that left us unbelievably unbalanced on the left due to having two players there who both wanted to cut back inside onto their right foot. He's a hypocritical knob head and is doing exactly the opposite of what he asked of Digne - to put the team first.
And then why not change things when it obviously wasn't working? He waited until 13 minutes from the bastard end of the game before he did anything. He should have made at least one change at half time. Nope! Then he should've made a change the instant we got one back. Nope! The only reason we'd managed to drag ourselves back into the game was because of the sheer power of will from Gordon and Gray, it wasn't because our master tactician had done a fucking thing.
Just for those that need a fucking comfort blanket for any criticism aimed at our esteemed conductor the majority of the players were atrocious too. The midfield two of Allan and Doucoure were fucking diabolical and offered no protection whatsoever for the defence, who then proceeded to wilt under the pressure.
All of them can fuck off and then fuck off some more until they have time to fuck off again.

We have been dead last in the firm table for ages. What just about keeps our head above the water is those first few matches. Since then we have been relegation form.

I don’t think we can afford to get this one wrong, we need results, identity, philosophy, and stability.
We don’t need a short term fix as that makes it how many managers in how many years and gives the players who need to start performing an excuse.
I personally don’t want Moyes back, his track record with our strikers was horrible and it seemed he just sapped the confidence out of them.
Also how has Morgan managed to survive and outlast this many managers
