It’s not just his lack of goals that’s been disappointing, it’s his overall contribution, half arsed pressing, tracking back, tackles, Dom shows what we need ( when he’s available) Maupay just doesn’t come close IMO.
Some fans want perfection from every player, every game, even City can’t do that, I thought he did well against a very sharp and intelligent Foden, and said so when voting for man of the match.
The result wasn’t a surprise to anyone, two teams of very different qualities and ability.
What I found horrible to experience was the difference in the crowd between the two halves, we cheered all the way through the first ( rightly so we gave a good showing apart from 3 minutes ), then seeing Maupay come on for DCL just seemed to kill any optimism we had in the ground and we were silent. If Simms had come on instead it would have been different, a mistake I believe by Dyche.
Im still optimistic we can get enough points from the next two games having seem our last 3 performances.
You’ve missed the point completely, we stayed and applauded them off the pitch as a sign of encouragement for the next two games, it’s similar to greeting the team coaches before a game.
He’s an accident waiting to happen, over confident in his ability and arrogant. He’s playing in a league above his level, I just hope that he’s not playing for us wherever we end up next season.
As for the booing, I don’t like to hear it, but many feel his mistake were key in loosing the game yesterday.
I doubt any deals will be done until we know our destiny for next season.
Based on what we can do when best utilised we should keep him for at least 2 seasons.
I think that’s the best score we could have wished for, the next game is the same as a final, it needs to be won, let’s hope a few of the key players are rested. It’s going to be a tough game regardless who they put out due to their squad and it’s quality.
I don’t want to either, but I fear it may happen this window due to finances. If it does I wish him the best and cheer him on his return to ( hopefully) Goodison.
