Boston Toffee reacted to badaids in Spurs (home) Sat 3rd Feb 2024
I'd like to see Harrison off, he's been awful the last 4 games. May as well give Dobbin a go.

Alright, who's in charge of making the coffee for this one with it being such an early start here in the states?

I would also have taken a point but as said we had chances. Same old story nobody capable of putting the ball in the net.

What's worse Danjumas shooting or McNeils passing?

Somehow we would have been given a handball.

Our passing at the crucial time is the poorest I’ve seen from any team in PL

Yea he looks the part frequently but the quality of his passing is just not very good.

Harrison has been utterly useless

Really hoping we give some key players a rest for this one given the uncertainly surrounding our standing in the table. Not happy about it but we have to prioritize the league.

Boston Toffee got a reaction from Matt in Longest Thread! for Everton Discussion
My word it can be so painful being an Everton supporter. The manager n players have putting everything into the matches. But the idiots thst have been in charge seemed to have no clue. Still chance the new owners could be 777 who gi en their history will just muddy the waters more. It's like a curse. Hopefully we get good news eventually and things turn for the better.

One huge positive I took from today was how both Tarkowski n Mykolenko are warriors. Both tough as nails. Myko cracked head open, taped up rt back out not missing a beat. Tarky 2 head cracks. Nothing keeps him down. Back on fighting for each ball. Both very important to the club and glad we have them

It's always a good signing when many players could have been man of match. When in past it would so and so.... I guess ( cause no one was worthy)

Feels awesome waking up Sunday morning knowing yesterday was 3 more points in the bank. I'm trying to change my thinking. I've been so accustomed last few seasons to negativity with Everton. Even up 2 late in 2nd half my warped Everton mind thought we may very well blow this lead. But they didn't. That's pre-Dyche Everton. What a joy to watch lately.

Once again, I'm really proud of the team and their efforts yesterday. They should be proud of themselves as well because as Dyche said after the game they hadn't known that was going to be the system or personnel until the day before, leaving them with no time to actually prepare. And apart from a little bit of unease to begin with and the odd moment throughout the game you never would have known it. That's some going when it's not a system we play very often and when we have played it we've not looked very good at it. It's testament to Dyche and how well drilled he has everyone that they just got on with it and looked solid. Two of the defenders that came in were our best defenders in my opinion - Godfrey and Keane were superb. Couldn't fault them at all and their contributions throughout were massive for us - obviously Keane will get more of the plaudits because he was solid and grabbed the goal that made things less edgy but that clearance at the end of the first half from Godfrey was as good as scoring. It was top draw.
First half I thought we were the more dangerous side in creating opportunities despite, once again, not seeing a lot of the ball. We were happy to let them have it and pressed extremely well, which took time and space away from them so that they couldn't find any tempo or pick their passes as they pleased. It also made sure that Trafford had to go long more often than he'd have wanted to, which then allowed our physical players to win the ball back. We probably could have scored even more than two goals we managed but we took enough of our chances that our efforts deserved.
Second half we didn't press as much and dropped a bit deeper, making ourselves more solid and compact and basically just said to Burnley "alright, we've got the advantage, now try and break us down". They couldn't and, other than a couple of chances, we did well to barely give them a sniff.
It's not a game where I'd say we were brilliant but what we were was professional, and that's not something you could level at us very often over the past few years and I'll take it all day, every day.

Boston was the first place I lived in the US, and I still remember vividly landing at Logan airport. The smell of mulch remains nostalgic.

That was a fun watch. Went to Everton supporters bar in Boston to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed. Kudos to Keane (big goal and strong overall) and Godfrey (saved a goal, also strong). Never thought we would be playing this well.. makes for a great weekend.
